Dawn Dishwashing Soap, why?

The Solution!

The solution is obvious.
Either of these two products will take care of the problem

Sweep-Shine
Or
VaporWax Acrylic Paint Conditioner

If you don’t know where to purchase them, just be patient.
I’m sure someone is going to let us know where to get these “Miracle in a Bottle” products.
:notme:

I thought it was a magic eraser for darker colors.

Oh well. That's why I'm here. To learn.

You'd laugh, but I had to do a car with someone who DID use it on the finish!:wall Christ it took some wetsanding and lots of leveling, but it was done.

I asked if thay had anymore in the house (claimed I needed them to clean a "stubborn spot") and proceeded to cut them up and throw them in the trash in front of the owner.

I've heard one guy who owns a few fast food shops used a degreaser normally used to clean fry-o-lators and other items as he had some TAR on the fender areas and just decided to wash the whole car with it.

Cars vinyl bumper covers and anything with plastic was all damaged by this product due the PH of it.

As for Dawn, you'll not hurt a finish with it.

Wow

I honestly have only used cold water to wash my car.
I use a bucket and a hose and the water is normally cold. I have not experienced excess residue or rubber degradation. My cars are 5 and 8 years old both bought new.
I use a long handled soft bristle brush which I put the soap in to lather the car while I rinse clear with the hose similtaneously.
All soap should have grease or oil cutting ability even automotive soaps.
If not how could they effectively clean a car?

The residue is not visiable on the surface but according to what I read online it still is....take a dish and wash it with DS cold water only and see how slick the finish feels after rinsing..that's the soap residue..then rinse that with hot water and feel it again, squeaky

I don't have hot water to wash car with.

I use an Acrylic Paint Conditioner after I wash my car with soap.

Yeah, I thought so. So you just wipe something on the paint surface and call that "re-conditioning." Like I said, you keep using that term, but you seem to not have an understanding of what it really means.
