driving the GN and all of a sudden it rains:mad: (hate it when it rains when I drive this car). When i got home to put it in the garage I used the California water blad to wipe excess water(is it ok to do this after rain?) Then sprayed quick detailer to check if the wax is still there. went to buff it off and the detailer wipes off slowly. Does that mean its time to rewax again? I just waxed the car with 2 coats a week ago. Thanks for any suggestions.

I would advise not to use the Water blade to dry after a rain storm. There is dirt there and can cause scratching.

What wax/sealant did you have on the GN before this rainstorm?

Hope this helps..

MAN I love the Grand National! What a car what an ENGINE.

Oh wait you asked about wax.

Check out what the pros say on here. I wonder if you can apply wax/polish too much.

From my readings and experience the klasse and Zaino can never be applied too much. The look keeps getting better.

As for the wiper blade thingy. I do believe that it will drag any dirt and scratch the finish. The rubber may not but it does not have the ability to float the dirt under the blade and it seems it would get ground in.

I love them fancy Miracle towel things whatever brand you buy.

Grand National huh. What year? Wanna sell it cheap? I remeber hearing the could beat Corvette's in a quarter mile. I think the last two years could with respect to identical Vette years.

Post a pic pleaseeeeeeee. I have not seen one in a while!

Thanks and good luck!

awww man too late I used the blade already:eek: :(

Oh well live and learn.

Here's a pic of the GN. Not mine though although its exactly the same one.

That car is so cool!

V6 power burning rubber like a top fuel dragster. You got to love it. GM can make a stong engine.

I remember when the GN first came out, I was a teen and dad bought me a Sky hawk with the turbo. Fast car. Beat a mustang 4 cyl turbo all day long and the t-bird too.

When I picked it up the GN was parked right next to it on the lot. What a car. Wish they would bring it back or at least drop the motor in something worthy of all them ponies!

I would suggest yuo re-wax with Meguiars #26. It doesn't last that long in my books. See 3 weeks then at the 4th week the shine goes away. Good, locally available wax, but my vote goes to Klasse/Blitz or Pinnacle. I have used Klasse/#26 with success.

Sometimes in certain conditions that wax just doesn't seem to hold up like it should (although looks nice).

Go for Klasse or Zaino since you're here :)

I re-wax when my fingernail stops gliding over the finish.

I do not press hard enough to scratch the finish, but with a fresh coat of wax, I find that pressing hard will not scratch it either.

Like today, I ran my fingernail on a few areas on my car and found some hesitation on one part, so I waxed the whole car.

BTW, I use Zaino.

I guess I will rewax the whole car again. I want to finish the #26 anyway so I can get some Klasse AIO and SG:D So the #26 lasts only 4 weeks? Guess i'll be waxing every month then. Oh well. I can't wait to get Klasse:) .

Yep, thats why I bought the GN. It's a car that is rarely seen on the streets:D And when people see it they just stare and stare at it. I get too many compliments on the car that I just dont wanna hear anymore:D .... it still has the original paint too and it looks like it came off the showroom in 87 when washed, polished and waxed.

2 days, about 12 hours a piece. 1 great dinner from nearby forum member Harley Guy. A couple of after pictures...

We dove deep into the wacky world of detailing, taking our DA's to the shocks in an order to make everything perfect. 400 pictures to sort through (as well as over 2000 from my recent trip). It might be a while before this write up is done, if ever... However the opportunity to work with David Fermani was priceless.

Wow bro!
Is that the F40 you were talking to me about?

Yes that is the one I wanted you do to if you where still in Naples/Macro Island. In the end I'm not complaing but 14 cars in 13 days, with only 1 night in my own bed, including 25 hours plus driving time.... I'm beat, but then again I'm preaching to the choir. Thank God Cavallino is over!!!!

14 cars in 13 days?!!:w00t: That's gotta be a new Free World Record?:notworthy:

That Porsche's a classic and now it looks better than it did when it was new I'm sure... GREAT job Todd!:)

Can't wait for the write up on the F40...
