As you may know, I just started. I only have one weekly customer that I did a detail for as well. Looking for more clients. First I was just trying to get some washes that would hopefully turn into word of mouth. From the beginning I was focusing on washes til I get the word out on me but Im wondering if I will type cast myself as a mobile car wash and not a detailer. I was also trying to figure out how to get quicker at washing cars to make money but then I realized I should figure out how to find people that are willing to pay extra for someone that actually cares about their car as if it were their own.

Anyway, I was walking my dog yesterday and in my development there are singles $325-$425, townhomes $280-$325, and higher level appartments ($1200 a month for one room). I noticed in the town homes there are maybe 10-15 houses that have MB, BMW, Escalades, etc starting at like $55-60k for the Escalades and close to $100k or more for the other cars. I was going to get some brochures made up specifically for these higher end clients.

I was kicking around the idea tonight to get a few different brochures made up for each of the different companies. I know this isnt needed for established business but what do you think for someone just starting out. I think they would be more apt to look at the brochure if its tailored to their car, or at least brand of car.

Tell me what you think

First, do you have a website? If not, put your money there. Then invest in Google AdWord campaign. I have one set up and spend about $100/month on it. It generates instant results as your name is @ the top of the search everytime since your paying for it.

I wouldn't invest in any printed material and just spam it like that. You'd be better off going to a Country club or Gym and setting up some sort of display (this will take some finaggeling with the owner of course).
