Couple of Non-Black BMW's

Gee, I get a break from Black Bimmers! Actually, the White 325i was harder to check for correction than the black: constantly moving lighting and angles, etc.

Process: Compounding with wool pad and 3M Perfect-It 3000 plus Extra Cut where needed for scratches, power wash, polish with Menzerna IP and glaze pad, and a final coat of Meguiar's #26 for gloss and protection.

Next up is a Silver 745i (a few more acres of sheet metal than the 3 Series)

Process: Usual light scratches and used 3M compound(s) plus some light wet sanding on the deeper scratches that I found. I will polish it today with IP, then burnish 3M Performance Finish as my LSP.

Note: I haven't polished the car yet, but there is already enough gloss to give the appearance.

Starting point:

Working compound until it clears out (thanks to Scottwax for the terminology)

Up on the lift for the lower portions of the car (a real asset to the shop)

And, yes, I mop and clean the floors

Ready for polish and LSP...then, it's off the lift and time for the interior

Yay, a break from black cars Toto!

Every time I view your C&B's, I feel totally envious of your shop lift. Somehow, some way, I want one installed in my future home, hehe.

Nice! That white is glowing.

That lift would sure make those bottom panels alot easier to polish.

Thanks for the compliments folks! That lift is a huge asset to detailing that's for sure. I'm thinking of getting one for my personal garage (a much lesser priced one though).

Here's a couple of outdoor shots after power washing and it's now ready for a nice sealant.

See Ya...enjoy your day.

Really like that shop. You make me want to sell used BMWs. Looks like your boss moves a lot of cars.

The shop is superb! It's also the car showroom, so it's always clean. Plus, the dealer makes it a point to introduce me to prospective customers.

Volume wise-it's pretty small: about 10 cars per month and he cares about each and every customer (rarity these days)

The used car business fascinates me... I would love to have a lot, but the motivation is more to drive a different car every month than to make money, and you need to think business if you are going to give that line of work a go. I am encouraged, though, to hear that he can make a living selling 10 cars a month. That doesn't seem like much, really. I'm sure there are as many different ways to make it as there are dealers. Most any honest way to make a living with cars is attractive to me.

This dealer's overhead is so much less than a fully franchised Bimmer dealer. It's just himself and his wife and I contract with him to do the reconditioning. He's in a fairly small shop with zero mechanical help. All the cars he buys are from BMW Lease turn in's and they still have warranty. He's be doing it for 25+ years, so it must be a pretty good business.

I only WISH that when my dealership offered a detail it would be done by you!

Your work is awesome!

BTW... I know black is nice but DANG I think the bimmers look much better in other colors. The white looks great and the silver is sweet too! :bigups

Well, heck: tell your dealer that I'll come down there for a Mother's sandwich (with debris) or Cafe Mesparo or Ralph and Kakoo's (don't know if I spelled that right or not) and detail his cars.

:) If that's all it takes let me know when you're coming down and we'll get together around here for a detailing meet AND food of course! :2thumbs:

The Mother's roast beef debris sandwich is awesome! Don't you know I work a few blocks from there and have only been there once :nervous2:

And you were very close, it's Kacoo's but I knew what you meant.
