You don't have to like it to respect the amount of time that went into creating it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I may not appreciate most works of art but I can appreciate that the creator probably has a hell of a lot more talent than I do in that area.

After looking at the making of pictures, I can only say I wish I had the time, resources and sheer talent to do something of that level of sophistication. For those of you who don't like the over top look of the Civic, check out the BMW X5 Alpine did.

I don't think that anyone missed that point. It is obvious that the purpose of this car is to draw attention. It does that very well and most here do appreciate and respect the time, knowledge and skill involved with building a creation like this. Although I do not like this particular demo car, I am glad that audio companies have stepped up and now produce more elaborate display vehicles than the previous "Astro with a speaker wall" type vehicles. This car turns really does turn heads. (and a few stomachs)

Actually, with minimal money, you can turn a 4 cylinder civic into a V8 killer with even a small turbo, or a simple bolt on supercharger. My friend only spent about 3k worth of upgrades in his civic, 520 hp. There isn't one V8 that can even keep up with him, nor any 6 cylinders like supras in my area that can do it either. Plus it's more reliable than most american cars are stock lol.

A B18C is already $3k so you can stop right there. What kind of turbo? What kind of intercooler? What kind of blow off valve? What kind of engine management? What kind of injectors? What kind of fuel pump? What kind of suspension? etc etc etc.

Personally having some very good asian friends, I think the term "rice" is deragotive. They feel it associates tackeyness with Asian vechicls/culture. I mean I see alot of people with confederate flags everywhere on their trucks/cars and shotgun racks but I don't call them "racist white cracker" mobiles because alot of people do hunt here hense the shotgun rack and while a confederate flag isn't my taste owning one doesn't necessarily mean you are a bigot. I do agree that SHO has basically turned into a webboard composed of rude teenagers though, and it's funny because most of the members on SHO hate "rice" as much as this messageboard does lol.

It is flat out rice. In fact I have little packets of rice in my car that when a little ricer pulls up next to me in their civic with their alum wing that I roll down my window and toss it at them. On the outside is says Honda fuel. And the confererate flag people are rednecks.

I think it is a cool car personally. I love the color and style of it. It is a head turner and as stated before that was the purpose of it. And you can NEVER have enough stereo!! What?
