Ah yes the Apollo. These were very cool cars. Remind me of a Ferrari 365 with a bit of Jag E-Type thrown in. With a body designed by Bertone and made in Italy, then shipped over to california for final production.
If memory serves me right, this was to be the competitor to the British and Italian GT cars of that time frame. Unfortunately the lump under the hood was a underpowered Buick 5.7L V8 unit making only around 220HP. This was no where near comparison to the European GT cars which had more HP and higher top speeds. (The cheaper E-type had a 4.2L I-6 making 265 in US trim)
I think under 100 were ever built. Very cool car however, and a neat piece of American auto history.
