So this car pulled in the shop today I thought it was an old Jag or Old Ferrari. Nope it was an Apollo this car has some sexy lines. Anyone ever seen one of these?

Ohhhhh.Man I love the Apollo. Saw one at the first Louisville Concours. (red) American horsepower Italian design A small group of guys who should have stuck together. Its like a slimmed down Ferrari 330.

Yessir! There was a British racing green one that was fairly regular at our Cars and Coffee. Great lines on that car, great power too!

She was a beauty! Since moved on to new ownership, although I've seen it a few times since so it must still be in the region.

Wow that is an awesome looking car. My first thought was some hybrid Ferrari/Jaguar E-Type, but it does look like a slimmed down Ferrari 330 (with a touch of British flair). Very cool. What's under the hood?

Ah yes the Apollo. These were very cool cars. Remind me of a Ferrari 365 with a bit of Jag E-Type thrown in. With a body designed by Bertone and made in Italy, then shipped over to california for final production.

If memory serves me right, this was to be the competitor to the British and Italian GT cars of that time frame. Unfortunately the lump under the hood was a underpowered Buick 5.7L V8 unit making only around 220HP. This was no where near comparison to the European GT cars which had more HP and higher top speeds. (The cheaper E-type had a 4.2L I-6 making 265 in US trim)

I think under 100 were ever built. Very cool car however, and a neat piece of American auto history.

The customer said it was a V12 I'm not sure I didn't look. It sounded out right evil though.
