Congrats Roshan!!

Good one!

Congrats Roshan!

You were no doubt aware that Dentists have the highest suicide rate among the top 20 tier of highly compensated professionals? ;);)

I have no idea if this is still the case but I looked into going into the Dental Field when I was much younger. During that time I was made aware of that tidbit. That wasn't really what swayed me, truth is I'm just not that smart. Back in those days they were still making wooden dentures. ;)
Im sure Auto Detailers rank even higher in suicides!:D

Congrats Ihaveacamaro !!:bigups

My dentist loves his work and practice.

I hope you have steady hands!:inspector:

Roshan, we already talked but I wanted to congratulate you on a more public basis. I am proud of you for sticking with it and getting in to a great school.
After practicing dentistry for 17 years, I can say that I have had some great times and some periods that were difficult to get through but never thought about swinging from a rope. I can tell you that many dentists take their work VERY personally and dissatisfied patients can be a big frustation. In my practice we call them "angry mom's" and they can be very difficult to handle. I actually know a dentist who killed himself. He was distraught over a breakup with a girl. On a lighter note...I am sure you'll have a ton of stories for all of us from Dental School next fall! Good luck Dr. Kalra!

Crazy though about the wooden dentures! Never even heard of those!

:lol2:

See, George Washington and know I'm not really that old but it was 30 years ago that I was considering doing this.

As far as the suicide thing goes, I think it comes down to specialization. Lots of Dr.'s end up filling teeth (something a decent dental tech can be taught to do) and not much more, they choose to wean their business down to just that. In the end they've spent all that time going through medical school are so over qualified for what they end up doing it gets to them.
