Come on in and watch the transformation of my "new" car!

You should take your car back to the place you bought it from and show them the improvement :D I think that the previous owner would be like :shocked :( :bawling: :sadpace:  :shocked

I think I'll add Paste Glaz in the morning. :) #16 looks good, but I've always found Paste Glaz to leave the wettest shine on silver and white.

Dude, awesome job with your 'new' car.

I know you'll be missing your Maxima now.

There are things I miss about the Maxima...

The aggressive styling.

The awesome sound of the Injen CAI and the 3.0L V6.

The tires that are SO superior to the ones on the Protege.

Alloy wheels.

Rear Spoiler.

But there's plenty of things I don't miss...

Premium gas.

22-30mpg as opposed to the 32-39 I get now, on REGULAR gas :)

Power antenna...ugh I hated that thing...so noisy.

Dents

165,000 miles

Cracked paint on the front bumper

I'll get over it. :)

After I graduate with my bachelor's degree, it's going to be a tough decision on my next car.

Paul,

You said you going move in next 2 weeks. Its you only or entire family?

What state college/university you attending now?

It's just me. I have an apartment already for the next two years. The last two years, I've attended University of Wisconsin - Manitowoc.

Here's my apartment building and the lake that is across from the UWSP campus:

Oh shoot thats pretty sweet apt you have there and not to mention the lake on the back. I highly doubt theres any rainbow trout on that lake :chuckle:

How come the grass in WI are sooo dry and brown out? Man, not enough rain or something? :nixweiss

We've been in a nasty drought for at least a month.

And BTW there ARE rainbow trout in that lake. :) :xyxthumbs

There are also bluegills, smallmouth bass, and largemouth bass.

If you're destroying clay like that, you definetly want to go decon. I can do a trashed car in like 45 minutes, with no effort. Finish Kare's kit is like 45 bucks and I'd highly reccomend it if you detail. If you want, PM me your info and I could deal you for the A and B steps (C step is just regular soap).

I just ordered a gallon of Step 1&2 with your advice, I am glad you mentioned this system it could really be a big help thanks and I knew not to get the soap which helped also. Pm me some tips on this stuff if you have any.

yea it has been really dry here, last weekend we got a little rain, but not enough to help anything

How these Decon work anyway? I was reading it and seem there's alot of steps and precaution to be followed.

Mazda does the coolest blues, don't they? The original RX-7 was available in the coolest purplish blue, still never seen anything like that, although one of their new colors is close.

Someone really needs to do a side-by-side of the FK and AI decon, and settle this once and for all. I have used the FK decon twice, not so much for rail dust, but to neutralize acid rain/bird poop spots after the car had sat unprotected. Ketch makes such a big deal out of this in his paper on the AI website, about the acids getting trapped in the matrix, yada yada, you need to decon and then protect and you're good forever, of course, we all know a good poop will go right through the LSP, so then you have to decon again? Call me when we get this one figured out. Sorry if I'm jacking your thread Maxy, but I'm in a mood this morning :o

Well here's the finished exterior, with RMG/UPP/#16/Paste Glaz...

Look at that shiny chrome tip! :p (1Z Chromepflege, AIO, WG)

And check out my gas mileage from yesterday and today (~95% hwy - 60mph w/ cruise on, no A/C)

That's right...189.5 miles with 3/4 tank left! Unfortunately I couldn't use my cruise for the way home today since there was a lot of traffic. :( I filled up when I returned at got a dismal :p 39.89mpg. :lol I love it!

Maxy, I know you went into some detail about the tinting process, but I don't think you said why you did tint the windows...privacy, keep it cooler in the sun, looks cool, what?

All of the above. And tinted windows offer a very nice reflection compared to non-tinted glass.
