Come on in and watch the transformation of my "new" car!

Thanks for the comments.

I don't know where you are in Texas, but a dry 95*F isn't bad at all. I remember visiting my brother in north central California a couple years ago; we went out for dinner and ate outside, where it was still 95*F at sunset. It was beautiful--not uncomfortable at all.

Around here, we only get 90*F+ temps when we get a strong southerly wind, which of course brings the soggy, tropical air with it too. I prefer those calm, 75-degree days.

For sure, I just saw my chance and had to laugh at the weather comments

Oh, my mom thought you had just replaced the entire interior, so kudos

Let the games begin...again.

A 2003 silver Protege5 will be joining my car in the garage starting on Monday. The biggest problems with that car are scratches and a few scuffed door dings. This one was bought at the local dealer. It has a little rust around all of the wheelwells, and they agreed to sand/paint those areas to remove the rust, and only charge us their actual cost. Once that process is finished, my work on the exterior can begin.

Yeah they are. My wife loved it when we test drove it. At first it seemed overpriced, but then when we looked at other P5s within 100 miles of here, they were all crap compared to the first one. They also offered us way more than our trade is worth.

It's got everything we could want in the P5, and my wife is happy that it's a stick. She drove a MT for a long time until her parents bought her an Impala. The Impala hasn't been good to us recently, so that's the main reason we started looking for a different car.

She actually had a MT car before she had her driver's license. But you can get away with that kind of thing when you grow up in a small town like she did.

I'm getting the Protege all shined up for it's meeting with the P5. After today I won't know which one to detail!

I just sold my Red 02 P5 back in July of 08. The only reason I sold it was because I had a paid off 94 Toyota Land Cruiser, but had I known I was going to ditch the LC I would have sold it to pay off the P5 (owed about $7K on it).

I miss that car more and more every day, by far my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. What it was lacking in power it more than made up for in handling and driver feel. It also had the best interior of any econobox I'd ever been in.

Congrats on the purchase, I wish I still had mine.

Yep, the P5 is a great car. I just sold mine about two weeks ago. For an economy car it is VERY stylish, and handles very well. I was impressed with the build quality of that car. The only thing I didn't like about it was the buzzy engine. Cruising at 70 on the freeway and doing 3500 RPM is really not very pleasing to the ears. They should have had taller gears in that thing.
