Collinite waxes

I just put another coat on my winter rat today

and the IW 845 is amazing on this burgandy paint.

All this other fancy wax in my house and I still reach

for Iw 845 !!!
 
Ok, so what do you guy think about this for a plan on a new Avus silver (darkish metallic silver) audi TT........?



1. Wash, Clay, Wash

2. Klasse AIO

3. Poorboy's EXP

4. Collinite IW 845



Will this combo give me a deep wet/glossy look and longevity of finish?



Anyone got any views/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The reason why I'd considered bith AIO and PB was that AFAIK, AIO's forte is as a cleaner rather than a sealant, and since i was most concerned with longevity and (of course) finish, that there would be an appreciable benefit in using PB after AIO.



Would PB remove AIO at all?



What other non abrasive cleaner/polish might I use/would you recommend, in the alternative?

If your concerned about longevity than EXP is not the sealant you want to be using IMO. Top your AIO with 845 IW like you planned it doesn't get much better than that. I would rather go AIO and IW x2 than AIO+ EXP + IW.

Agree. General consensus is that sealant outlives wax, but there are exceptions. The collinites are an example of exceptions. IW will outlast EX-P under almost any condition.

If you layered IW x2 ... how long did you wait between applications?
 
Reading this thread, which two should I get, IW 845 and Marquis D' Elegance?

Is there a reason to rush to get them? Are they going to be pulled like #16 ?

I would get 845 Insulator Wax and 476s Super Doublecoat.



Are they going to be pulled? Not according to Collinite Customer Service. They do need reformulation though to meet VOC regulations and who knows how that will turn out.

If you don't drive it and keep it in a clean garage, you might be able to just apply the second coat with *no* cleaning at all. In a "normal" garage, where you might have dust, it gets to be a judgment call between the QD and the regular wash.



If it's left outside or driven, I'd certainly wash it.
 
Collinite waxes (whether liquid or paste) are incredibly durable products. After a rainstorm, the water droplets look like tiny ball bearings on top of the paint. On most waxes, water droplets look like they're resting on the car. With Collinite, the water droplets look like they're "floating" on top of the paintwork, with the smallest/tightest beads ever.



I have 845 Insulator Wax (liquid), 476s Super Doublecoat (paste), and 885 Special Heavy Duty Fleetwax (paste). As stated by previous posters, the 476s and 885 appears to be the EXACT same product - same smell, same texture, same everything. The only difference is the labeling, the size of the cans, and the price. The 476s is a 9 oz. can, while the 885 comes in a 12 oz. can. I can buy 885 for $10 a can all day long and that makes it a heckuva deal over 476s. Actually, of the three products, my personal favorite is 845 IW as it goes on and off super easy. And it looks great. Plus, I can get it for $9 a bottle. I'll like to give Collinite #870 a try soon as it's got cleaners in it - would probably make it a great one-step product. Hard to beat Collinite for good value.
 
I'm going to put myself in the minority (or is it singularity? LOL) of not really caring for these waxes. I tried the MdE and found it to be "meh".



But, I'm not a #16 lover, either. FWIW, I think #16 is a better product.
