What's the difference between Collinite 845 vs 476 on a black car? (black pearl to be exact) I'm getting ready to make a purchase, but not sure what the difference would be.

NOTE: pics just for reference, Collinite not on car.

I can't really *see* a difference in the look of the two, thats me though. 845 is a bit easier to apply but 476s will last a bit longer. As always YMMV...

If you do end up with the 845, shake it for longer than you think is necessary before you use it.

I don't think you would go wrong with either. But, the 845 being on sale is a deal-clincher.

I love 845 for whatever cars I know can't maintain like my own, and for my own in the winter. It looks nice, beads like crazy, it's easy to flush off dirt later on, and it lasts a good while.

845 is a liquid wax which supposedly gives a more deeper shine, and can last for 4-5 months. On the other hand, 476 is a paste wax which gives relatively less shine compared to the 845. However, it's durability is 1-2 months longer.

03DubU R EX- I hope you'll report back on the durability of the 845. While I've never done a side-by-side comparison, I suspect the new, VOC-reg-friendly version of 845 isn't quite as durable as the older formulation. Don't mean to make you paranoid about it or anything...but I would like to hear how it works out for you.

Oh, and when the bottle is new/full, I usually stir it up with a long (can very clean)screwdriver before I try to shake it up.

I have both the new and pre VOC 845 and havent noticed any less durability and they both really stink of solvents

LOL, they sure do stink, but like one of the member on forum said, "it's not like you're going to eat it" :) Since the Collinite has great durability (just remember to do multiple layers), I don't mind the smell. However, the weird thing it that it smells like solvents and chemically abrasive stuff, but it's actually a pure carnauba wax. It can't even remove minor water spots from drying :) But it would be nice if Collinite could smell like the cinnamon smell of Mothers Showtime shine or the grape smell of Meguiars Endurance Gel :)

I just got a bottle of the 845..tried it out on a friend's hood. Very slick and nice looking..the coolest part was that I could easily wipe off bug splatters with just a light swipe of my finger..I've never had anything else let me do that

OK, thanks for the report on that. Heh heh, kinda *like* the smell of the stuff :o reminds me of the way so much detailing stuff used to smell back in the day I suppose.

i'm also wondering what online store everyone gets their collinite products from.

just bought a accord v6 6 speed coupe black, and i've read many good things about collinite's waxes. went to their website, but the list of distributors dont have a website/online store.
