I can't imagine there's a "right" and "wrong" way to do it.
The sealant/wax combo necessitates putting the beauty layer on top so that it doesn't impede the sealant's bonding to the paint. Since I started with OTC waxes, and then later switched straight to sealants, and then boutique waxes, I've been doing the beauty wax over sealant combo so that's what I know. But for layering one wax on top of another, I guess it makes more sense to put the beauty wax underneath. It'd be like putting a glaze underneath.

I bet that your final result isn't going to reflect only the top layer so I think if you do it that way, durable layer over beauty layer, you'd get a rough average of the two looks, rather than having the top layer completely dominant over the beauty layer. I'm sure though that the slickness would only reflect the topmost layer and that the durable layer would affect the look of the beauty layer.
I think I'm going to try this with my Pete's 53 underneath 476S to see if I can get some more depth out of the Pete's.

I don't find the looks of 845 and 476S to be all *that* different, especially not after a few washes. I use 845 underneath as it's a more user friendly and trim-friendly product; I get a little better/more foolproof effect when I go over *everything* with 845 and then go back and use 476S on the painted parts. I often use the 476S on the trim too, but, well, it just seems to work better for me that way as compared to just using 476S by itself :nixweiss Sorry for the crappy explanation.
One other benefit I've seen is with regard to tape stripes/clear bras/etc. The 845 is a thinner product and less likely to leave residue along the edges of such materials. Using it as the first layer seems to make it easier to not have issues when then applying 476S.
