Ones that bad Ive had success using 1000 grit sandpaper and lots of soapy water when nothing else would work including even 000 steel wool.

No,never .Always try something the least aggressive first. 1000 grit is last resort. 1000 grit may scratch some so go easy and use lots of soapy water or a lubricant with it. Got the Borla polish....nice stuff, thick white paste that polishes and cleans well....

Once you opticoat your tips, a simple washcloth brings them back to full luster...
