Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss

For example, there are some products wich are very acidic like Z8 and AW, and also the AJT, Carlack Long Life Sealant... and others are formulated to protect and are alkaline like CMW, Z2, Z5, etc...

The pH value will not indicate better or worst properties in the product.

I wonder why products are acidic and alkaline when they're meant to protect

I remember from CHemistry that our stomach acids are about 2 pH.

I can't find any reason to say that a product must be acidic or alkaline to protect. :nixweiss

I think the important is the composition.

As long as it works, I'm good! I'm just curious though :)

So do I mate. I'm chemical engineer so I think in pH, bonding, etc... but I can't find answers... :nixweiss

....not as slick as Griots or DG 901 but very close...

Al,

Was this a testament to the washes lubricity or to the slickness of the freshly washed paint? I'm a sealant guy and wash my car with Z-7. I'm planning on testing some other products (waxes, glazes, etc.) on my wife's car and as such am looking for a good wash to use in place of Z-7. I was leaning towards Meguiar's Gold Class but this Citrus Wash and Gloss is starting to look interesting. I like the thought of using it as a paint cleanser and wheel cleaner at high concentrations but don't want to compromise on lubricity when used as a general wash.

Mike

lubricity is not compromised when using wash n gloss in a shampoo dilution...if you really want to add lubricity to your car wash just put in an ounce of onr with wash n gloss...they play very nice together and i often foam my car with 3/4oz wash n gloss and 3/4oz onr...super lubricity and great cleaning power...

Slickness as in lubricity during the wash...it is good..but not quite as good as griots and 901...remember I used 1/2oz to maybe 2-2 1/2 gallons...maybe 3/4 oz would have been better results...I would say it's lubricity is more than GC as I have used that shampoo also...was not impressed with it..seems the paint felt grabby after GC ....I believe you will like Citrus wash...It could of been me also ..as this was my first bucket wash of the Year...so I may have been off a bit judging it..never know

I just used the Citrus wash today. I don't find a difference between this and Poorboy's SS&S, but then the vehicle wasn't really dirty. My dad's car is really dirty and I plan to try the Citrus wash on it. 1/2 oz for 2 gallons is ridiculously krazy concentration, I couldn't believe it, but it did well :). Now, I just have to make some various cleaners out of it.

I just bought two gallons of Citrus Wash along with two more tubs of Pete's '53. And yes, Paul is an awesome guy to work with! Very prompt with the emails...

You must love that Pete's! I do too, but I don't have money to buy more.

Oh yes, I love that Pete's wax! The additional two I bought aren't for me, I'm giving them to some friends of mine so they can try it as well.

I tried this wash again with water from my other well...much softer water..and It was much better as far as lubricity...this time it felt very much like oil on the panels..the first water I used is hard water...it was night and day between the two as far as lubricity..I used 1/2 oz to 2 1/2 gallons of water and the mitt was just gliding over nicely....much better than the first time I used it...so it is sorta water depended if you want to put it that way...

I like it....But 901 is still my weekly wash ..it just seems to really add justice to the DG sealants...
