I see there hasn't been any discussion about Charlie's Soap sincce 2001. Is anyone still using it?
It was from that old discussion that I first heard about it. It sounded pretty good so I thought I'd try it. I ordered a gallon of the liquid Laundry Soap and a gallon of the APC. I had some MF towels that needed washing so I decided to wait for Charlie's Soap to arrive. It arrived yesterday. It's too cold to do anything outside right now so I haven't tried the APC yet. I washed the MF's with the liquid Laundry Soap and they came out VERY nice. I still used the vinegar rinse out of habit, but I don't think it's really needed and will wash without it next time. You use one ounce per washer load so it is pretty economical.
My wife has been complaining about the smell of her clothes using the Tide HE. We have the new HE front loader so we have to use a low sudsing soap/detergent. She doesn't like the vinegar smell either. <sheesh!> Oh well.
So I washed a load of t-shirts and stuff that she wears close to her nose.
They came out very clean, soft and odor free. I'm really quite impressed. No vinegar rinse either and not needed. There appeared to be no or very low suds. I couldn't see any.
