pretty cool story here, not many pics...
This truck belongs to "Rampage" Jackson. I was called by a friend of mine on two saturdays ago mid-morning around 1130. "hey can you do a detail today?" I told him no as I had errands to do. (still havent finished a couple of those, lol) he says "well I really need a favor, its for a truck that will be going to SEMA and its Rampage Jackson's truck."
Well, my errands got pushed back and I was at the shop where it was being worked on by 130. I spent from 130-330 working on it getting it prepped for polishing. Got it ONR washed, tires dressed, chrome tips polished, and all taped up (lots of tape). headed off to work at 5 until 10, then headed back to the shop at 1030. I did a couple test panels to see what I was working with on the paint. Turns out, megs 83 on an orange pad followed by 80 on a blue pad was the meal ticket! The finish came out super glossy and slick. I applied liquid luster wax because although it doesnt last more than 2-4 weeks, it has some good depth and wetness to it!
I finished the truck at 6 in the morning!!! I believe it left for SEMA (yes they drove it out there and washed it there) at about an hour and a hlaf later at 730-8.
Anyway, I had a good time and Redbull kept me going as I pulled a 22 hour day that day...loooooong time to stay away for anyone!
I didnt take the pics, they were done by the magazine people I believe...
hopefully after all that time and effort and product, he will call me up to do the rest of his cars. I spent about 10 hours on it for a grand total of 50 bucks...hopefully it was worth it in the end and I get some more business from it!
