Blackfire Wet Ice Over Fire Shine No 56k

Here is my take on the BF products I have used :

1) Gloss enhancing polish (GEP) -> good but Klasse AIO is better (leave the painter cleaner and sharper looking).

2) Wet Diamond Sealant -> Leaves the car looking exceptional….. however have not been overly impressed with the durability of the sealant…… max 2-3 months in my experience…..However I do have some polycharger which I am expecting to boost the durability of the sealant.

3) Ivory Wax -> expensive…. Leaves a great finish however you can achieve the same look if not slightly better using chemical guys 50/50 wax as a final LSP.

Cheers

Definately an opinion....But I used 50/50 for months and have never achieved a look like this. For the little extra money compared to 50/50, their is a significant difference in look. 2-3 months durability is very similar to what many experience with FMJ...I am fine with 3 months durability. But I always got 4-5 with FMJ and expect the same here. The GEP is not the same type of product as KAIO. They are much different products and both have a place in my arsenal.

BF GEP, APP, Paste. I think it looks great even on a cloudy day.

Scott,

The 2nd layer was applied this morning and sometime this weekend, more pics will be up...This is simply an unbelievable looking wax in person. I never thought white would look this good.

Out of curiousity, why did you top the wax with a sealant? Did you not like the way it came out with just the 2 products? Or do you prefer a different look? Im curious, because I am going to do a black truck with it tomorrow, and on white I have never scene anything look this good, so I am thinking on black it will look even better.

I wanted to see what difference, if any there was by layering. To date I've layered many different sealants and wax without any problems. I'm being to prefer Blackfire as the base sealant and then layer waxes and or sealants for various effects. Sealants do seem to produce a bright sharp finish whereas wax seems to be wetter and not quite as bright. It's hard to describe but you'll see the difference pretty quickly. I like both effects and it seems pretty easy to go from one to the other with the layered approach.

The hood of the s2k looks great. I have a black s2k myself that I've been using menzerna on. I'll post some pics as soon as I hit that 10 posts mark.

Menzerna is the key...My car was finished with 106ff and the finish was unreal.

Im confused, did you use both the sealant and 2 layers of nuba per the directions? Any more seems like complete overkill.

The first set up was 2 layers of sealant and 3 layers of wax (blackfire). That what you're looking at in the pictures I posted. I have over the folllowing months added layers simply as an experiment to see what the effects would be. Overkill...no doubt, but again I wass more interested in seeing what limitations I would run into. I've been quite pleased so far as I've not found any combination of layering or products that react negitively yet.

If I had to pick one set up I damn sure us the Blackfire sealant/wax combo as it can compete with any of the other high end LSP's.

Out of curiousity, when you purchased your blackfire from CMA, why did you not use their directions? 1 coat of sealant and then 2 coats of paste? Just curious, because Jon at CMA still says that anything added to this Nuba after the fact will not in most cases bond properly. He says you may be putting things on top of it, but that is just it, they are just resting there so to speak and will not add anything protection wise. His words, not mine.

Well I had purchased Blackfire sealant a few months prior to the release of the wax so I had already been layering his stuff with other waxes such as P21s Zymol Ital and Griot's paste wax. No particular reason for not following his direction however, I'm not sure how you can tell if the layers are not bonding. Zanio C/S is advertised as being ble to top and bond to anything basically and I've laid over Blackfire several times. Again, I'm pretty much experimenting, looking ofr something new.
