Blackfire Wet Ice Over Fire Shine No 56k

Glad you liked it...If you have any questions, feel free to ask away either on the board or via pm. Welcome to the board.

I've got numerous coats of Blackfire sealant/wax on my S2K...I let each coat set up for at about 8 hours and have not had any problems. I've layered with blackfire with zaino, P21, Zymol Ital, Victoria concourse, pinnacle souveran, and swissol. All seem to work very well.

Blackfire combo is a damn fine product.

Were you putting the sealant over the Blackfire Ivory Nuba wax? According to CMA, you will have bonding issues doing that.

Yep, I've had no bonding problems in any way shape or form. I do let each coat set up for about 8 hours.

Out of curiousity, why did you top the wax with a sealant? Did you not like the way it came out with just the 2 products? Or do you prefer a different look? Im curious, because I am going to do a black truck with it tomorrow, and on white I have never scene anything look this good, so I am thinking on black it will look even better.

I agree, the sealant is definetely a sleeper. Pretty good durability(3-4 months, IME), VERY nice looks on darks and dark metallics, and is really slick.

The hood of the s2k looks great. I have a black s2k myself that I've been using menzerna on. I'll post some pics as soon as I hit that 10 posts mark.

Josh..what did he say about using the gloss enhancing polish prior to the paint protection/paste combo?

What kind of durability can we expect from this combination?

Jon said to expect about 4 months in Florida weather with this combo...3 at the least and up to 6. But 4 months is reasonable.

Jon also said he recommends using the polish ahead of time if needed.

Ok..so I am still new to this detailing stuff and have a few questions.

I have a paint sealant I had just ordered from former (Gary) at proper auto finish and was told that it will protect for 6 months.

Josh I think you said the combo you used will protect for 4 months in Fla weather (where I live) so there is really no need to put anything further on the car after the Fire/Ice combo to help protection? I thought I mentioned someone talk about a sealant? Is the carnuba was considered THE SEALANT?

So basically there will be no need for me to apply the sealant I purchased to put on TOP of the FIRE/ICE combo? I should ditch it?

The sealant is the base coat before the paste wax...A sealant is a non carnuba LSP. The sealant used in this is the blackfire All Finish Paint Protection, prior to adding the paste wax. It worked very well.
