Blackfire Wet Diamond Review (with Pics No 56k)

Guys, let's try to keep this thread on topic, that is about Blackfire or User Name's experience with it. There are plenty of other forums out there where product, person, or company bashing is completely okay, and some times encouraged. People have attacked our products, our personal, or our company in the past, and they will continue to do so in the future. We understand this is going to happen, and while I appreciate Angelo and other's frustration, this really isn't the place for it.

The proverbial line is getting close to being trampled over, so let's stay on topic and make 'Truth in Detailing' a save haven from bashing, drama, and mis truths!

Thanks for you helping making this a great forum.

Todd

I agree.

The whole point of the review was to give a simple (and honest) opinion from someone who does not go lightly on LSPs. I have (without doubt) found more that I think did not live up to hype, than those that did.

Blackfire Wet Diamond is one such product (that lives up to the hype).

I'll be interested to hear other opinions on it (like Biolink and Akimel) and read their thoughts about the subject.

I tried the BF Wet Diamond about 4 years ago. Liked it very much except for the fact that water "sheeted" off instead of beading. I really hated that. does it still do that or has it been reformulated. if so id be willing to give it another try.

I tell you what, I have a sample I will use tomorrow in place of the FMJ I just bought. I will follow with a second coat on Sunday (as I would with FMJ). Stay tuned.........

Wow, I can't believe I'm jumping ship on FMJ. The only question is whether to do a full polish or paint cleaning by hand.

H2O sheeting is not a bad thing. Beading can promote water spotting, even with an LSP on the paint.

***update***

Just wanted to give a quick product update.

We've had amazing weather all week so I just wanted to do a super quick wash on wifey's car tonight (after work) to remove dust on the car. There was nothing but light pollen, that I probably could have just gotten away with a rinse + a QD... but I washed instead.

In any event... depending upon the stream of water (whether a spray or direct stream), this stuff (BFWD) beads or sheets the water right off the paint. HOLY SH*T!!! Much moreso than other stuff I've used.

After the wash, it felt like I had just polished the car. Smooth as silk.

Frankly, I like it so much, durability is a non-factor for me with Wet Diamond (good or bad it won't change my mind). I'll like to put on an LSP at least once a month, so I'm going to have a very hard time not putting some on again, just so I can see how long it lasts! ;)

User Name, you are making me nervous. :scared: I just bought a fresh bottle of FMJ. I'm going to kick myself if my Blackfire experience is like yours. I've got everything prepped for a early morning start to my detail. I'm gonna give the new rotary a run at the Jetta with PO85RD. Just a teaser, I don't want tell the whole story now. The weather here in AZ could not be better and I have nothing but time tomorrow. I would have given my new PING clubs another spin but I just got mad on the course today. Detailing is like Zen for me so I'm all in with the Blackfire. :cornut: Good thing that stuff is on sale, I may be making an order. :D

thanks, this is what I was looking for , the BFWD I tried several years ago would "sheet" the water whether it was spray, direct stream or rain. Just a personal preference I guess, but I like a tight beading . I don't really have any issues with water spots as my local water supply is not that hard/alkaline

Well, I shot a 105 last Friday... so maybe it's better I STICK to detailing. What I'm fully realizing is that although I LOVE my hobbies, I may not be good at any of them!!! LOL
