Black '06 Charger w/Holograms

Worth a shot, you didn't spend a lot of money trying the Mother's and you now have it for the future. It is still a great wax to use, so you still didn't waste any money. One thing to remember in the future try something simple then progress forward. In your case you tried the Mother's and did not like the results, that is the art of detailing. You now see the importance of needing buffers or in your case a PC. Believe me if you continue your interests in auto detailing, you will see that other things will come up (especially with a new car). It's sometimes experimenting, somethings work and some do not, but you keep those things under your hat, that is how you resolve issues quickly and improve on your ability. I'm proud of your trying out suggestions and finding out for yourself. You are now about to take your abilities to a new level. Good luck.

I appreciate all of your feedback. I really do. I love the Mother's wax, that stuff made her shine beautifully.

Post op, PC: from what I could see at 4pm (after my initial polish), those holograms seemed to have cleared up a bit. To what degree, I wont be able to tell until tommorrow but I spent 5 hours polishing (setting 5), then another pass at setting 4. Topped off with a coat of Adam's glaze and then Adam's buttery wax. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I figure if they're still there, I need a tougher pad as I heard the pads with the PC are somewhat mild. Again, thanks for all the help guys, with your help, I am definetely making progress :waxing:

I'll be honest, I wouldn't even think of using the stock pad that came on the PC with my soft dodge paint. I would definateley wait until you can get ahold of some LC, or excel pads, and some really good polish, like optimum or menzerna.

I wish you all the best with the repair.

It can be done with a PC but is extremely time consuming and exhausting.

As a result, to avoid making mistakes just tackle as much as you can comfortably and DON'T rush.

Also start with the least aggressive polish first - check results- move to something more aggressive if it didn't work.

I like my old standbys DACP with a cutting pad and SMR with a polishing pad to get rid of the DACP hazing

Here is a pick of my new '05 M3.

The owner actually worked at a dealership in a past career which included time in the body shop.

When I took delivery he said it just needed a coat of wax......(bite tongue and keep mouth shut :o

Nice pic by my son but check out those swirlies (wasn't all the way home with it yet).

After literally polishing all day I finally got to this stage but hadn't done the running boards or front bumper. It still had some hazing from either DACP or oils in the SMR.

Here is the car but with some more hazing removed and NXT topped with P21S.

Was losing light.

I am going to baby it with Mazerna in a few weeks but I am not going nuts when I walk up to the car in the light now :2thumbs:

Looks good! I had a similar problem that came from polishing on a hot panel on my black S2000. Came right off with a little SSR1. Glad to see it all worked out...Only now that you own your PC, you know you'll find reason to fix every blemish as it appears :waxing:
