This microfiber towel measures 20"x40" and has the primary purpose of drying your vehicle. Its main competitor, the BBT, is 25"x36". Therefore, this towel is 100 sq. inches smaller in surface area overall. The price difference is $13 for this towel, vs. $25 for the BBT. I seem to have paid $20 for them, but the price has been reduced on the website. Honestly, that kinda of bothers me because for what I paid I should have three.

Basically, you can dry your entire vehicle with this one towel, but I purchased two. As Jngrbrdman stated in his review of the smaller version, the towel seems to be made of the same quality as the BBT. I was able to either blot the surface, or pull the towel across and get the area completly dry. The amazing thing about this towel and the BBT is that the water seems to vanish. I'm one of the people who previously used the Absorber towel, wringing it out every panel and having it still streak. After I finished drying the car I tried to wring this towel out, but nothing much came out. I switched to the dry one and scanned the car for any missed spots...there were a few from water running down the seams.

Bottom line: this towel even dries windows faster than a California water blade can. You have to be more careful on the paint with towels, but the results are the same. If the towel is still $13, I would buy two large ones, ias opposed to one BBT for $25. Please, get one of these towels right away!

[Edit]I also just realized that waffle weaves towels, used properly, can also save you time during the after wash QD. Back in my absorber days, I was neccessary to QD after the wash just to remove water spots or very small marks streaks left behind. Now, I do not have to QD unless I feel like giving it some extra smoothless and shine.[/Edit]

Thanks for that review! I was wondering about the differences between those two towels. Their little purple one is pretty much exactly like the BBT except its smaller. I love my BBT. I was a die hard Absorber fan before I finally broke down and bought one from CMA. That thing is incredible!! I don't know how I lived this long on Autopia without having one. If 4 Star can deliver the same quality towel at a good price then they definatly have a winner on their hands. I don't think I could give up my BBT for anything else. I need to get another one for my wife's trunk. I'm putting together a bare essentials kit and I think that the BBT, or maybe 4 Star's version, is going to have to be included. :)

Update:

Premium Auto Care issued me a refund to make up for the difference for what I paid extra. The towels are now indeed $13 each, they are going through a different supplier now. Buy two!

I'm like this now: :bounce

I've been using the waffleweave towels I got from JT International for 2 months and I think they're great, they measure 28x54 for 16.50ea. I did a price comparison to see how much per square inch the BBT, your PAC towel and JT Inter cost.

BBT size 25x36: sale price $24.95 = .028

reg price $27.95 = .031

PAC size 20x40: new price $12.95 = .016

JTI size 28x54: reg price $16.50 = .011

From these numbers, the PAC's towel cost 50% more than JTI's and the BBT towel cost a whooping 300% more.

I got the towels today. They are great. I ordered 2 large waffle-weaves for 14.99 each, an Auto Detailing Kit ( 1 Mitt, 2 smaller waffle weaves, 2 Ultra Terry Towels) for 15.99, and 5 Elite MF Towels, for 19.95.

Shipping was super fast!! Ordered friday recieved monday.

I wanted to give them a real test so I washed my girlfriend's filthy car ( she parked it in a dirt parking lot ) with only water and the towels. The terry towels picked up, and scraped away the dirt like a magnet, and I dried the car streak and water mark free with the waffle-weave towels.

Tomorrow I am going to give it a waxing with my new microfiber mitt....

I definately recomend this company, Microfiber Tech, on service, price, and quality.

Good Day! And thanks every one for the great info, I have learned so much in my short residence at autopia. I cant wait to become an Expert!!!!

I've got to recomend these towels as well. I just received the waffle weave towel in white. Two days from order. Looks and feels like my Big Blue towel. It's an 80/20 blend. I like the fact that the towel is available in white - easier to see dirt. Great buy at 15 bucks each!

I just used my big blue towel for the first time. I was not too impressed. When I first put it on my roof i could see the water soak through.... instant dissapointment. From then on the rest of the drying process never made the car "fully dry"... I felt like I needed another towel (ie: microfibre cloth) to pick up the rest of the water left behind on the car.

I used the absorber previously and when i wringed it it became almost completely dry... good for a final buffing. I guess I keep forgetting that this towel is indeed a towel...

That said, it dries better than any "towel" ive ever used and will continue using it. It feels so soft and gentle on the paint compared to the Absorber. Also I was unable to do my whole car without wringing it =) I like it alot.. but was still kind of dissapointed due to all the hype ....

One thing you must do is use a flow of water right from the hose to sheet the water off the best you can. This gets off most of the water on the car. Then you go in with your waffle weave towel. This isn't hype. I honestly dried my car start to finish with one towel. However, I sheet the water off, then use it. It helps 200% with any towel.

alright ill try that tomorrow, I had mad water on top of my car :scared:

I was kind of surprised at how fast I finished drying the whole car, definitly faster than the absorber.

I use 2 BBTs to dry my cars. The first takes off the majority of the water (and I use a hand wringer to remove water from it every couple of panels), the second is used to completely dry up anything left. I've been very happy once I got my second one. With just one I was having the same problems you are having. I just wish some of these cheaper versions of waffle weave were available back then.

wow i used a bucket and spashed the hood of my car and nearly all the water came off! I dried it instantly with the big blue. I love this thing now... streak free..soft.. ohh yahh
