Best wax/sealant combo for Dodge Flame Red Clearcoat?

Best combo for Dodge Flame red clearcoat? I know the best results won't be probably from OTC. Paint is about 95%, few scratchomatic carwash / brush scrathces in the clearcoat, light swirling.

I've used #83 and Mothers Synwax so far, but would like to bump it up a notch. I have the PC, megs tan and yellow pads. I'm not sure if the PC or the 83 or the yellow pad is holding me back from getting the scratches and remaining swirls out. You can't feel the scratches but can be seen in a halogen worklight. The scratches are horizontal. Used Clay Magic blue claybar also.

I can't go for the $75 a bottle stuff at this point in time but has to be better than what I've used so far (#83 was 19.99 and the synwax was $9)

I am planning on upgrading to an LC orange and white CCS pads, maybe the UDM if I can squeeze it out $$-wise.

If you are on a budget and would rather purchase OTC products, you may want visit your local Car Quest and purchase some of the Duragloss products.

I would suggest the following

1) Start out with the PC and Duragloss 105 (polish) $10

2) follow up with Duragloss 601 (bonding agent) dont remove because the final step is applied directly on top of the 601 $7

3) follow up with Duragloss 111 (clear coat polish) $9

4) Top everything with your favorite Carnuba.

I used this combination on my 02 Ram and could not believe the results.

You could ask others about this combination and I feel like many would agree. I have never heard any ill remarks about the Duragloss products.

And for great protection, follow up with Collinite.

Hi

Thanks for the thoughts here, this is on an 06 Dakota. I think there are 2 carquest in the area, I'll be going by one in the AM and I'll have to check in for those..

What pad(s) would you recommend on the 105, 601 and 111? Right now I have the megs yellow and tan. Polishing and finishing I think they call them.

thanks

Dude, 105 is a sealant..... It does have very minor cleaning abilities, but not a polish, duragloss calls their sealants polishes.

You just went sealant > bonding agent > another sealant

Well I managed to find the 951 Aquawax at the carquest this morning. Seems that they had everything else except 105.. 101, 111, car wash, protectant, bunch of things. That store is about 30 miles from me and he offered to order, but I'm going to check the one a bit closer to me on Monday.

From what I read, I would want to remove swirls and small imperfections with something like #83 or mothers powerpolish, then 105, then 951.. sound about right? I see lots of posts saying both things about the 601 before 105, or that it isn't really needed..

thoughts?

I recently made a thread about having difficulty managing M83 with the PC. I could not achieve the results I desired. This was using the Megs yellow pad. I switched to M80 and it helped but still not exactly where I want the paint to be and that is defect and swirl free 100%.
