Best Tire Dressing

Hi,

I've just got done doing full Zymol HD cleanse and Carbon Wax. I realized I'm missing something, namely an effective tire product. I'd like to know what you guys use. My car is black, and I'd like to avoid the "fling" of tire dressing onto the paint as much as possible.

Thanks,

Have you tried looking thru the Product Reviews and the Detailing Products Discussion? Selection of products is highly subjective, based in part on the look you want (shiny vs. matte), durability, etc. IMHO, there's no such thing as "best."

I like the Eimann Fabrik Black Opal, I can easily control the amount of shine, but wipe it down after application. The bottle will do 100's of cars. The best locally available product I have found is the Meguiars Endurance.

I hate how most of the tire sprays are bad for your tires because I like them real shiny. For now I use Megs Endurance gel. It lasts a very long time

HAWAIIAN SHINE

#L20- High gloss! Tire dressing, molding, etc. Hawaiian Shine will bring the highest possible shine to a tire's surface. Hawaiian Shine combines more high grade active ingredient with a high grade solvent to achieve a much superior shine. Hawaiian Shine makes old scuffed tires look like new and removes wax residue from moldings. (Qts.- 12 per case, Gals.- 6 per case, 5s, 15s, 30s, 55s)

I really like this stuff... been using it for a long time now.. will clean well and go on several ways and does not have the fling effect... :xyxthumbs

Check it here

You are one of the first that I have heard to say something positive about this product. I was considering giving it a try the Eimann that is. How does it last? How do you apply? Sorry if I threadjacked.

My current favorite is Eagle One Satin Finish Concours Tire Shine. It looks very nice and lasts for quite a while. The Eagle One Wet Tire Shine and Vinylex are also very good tire dressings.

I'm currently using Poorboy's Bold-N-Bright. I like the matte-to-satin appearance, though I believe that you can also get a glossy finish if you desire (I don't). I also have not experienced the fling factor, but more often than not the vehicle(s) sit after I'm done.

This evening I treated the wheel wells with the Bold-N-Bright for the first time. I really like the look, and am anxious to see how it holds up.

well i use meguiars high gloss, not a fav of everyones, but it has a nice shine, as for long term look and protection on wheels, ill be using my 303 protectant.

There is no single best way to dress tyres. You could dress with 3M tire dressing, 4 different omikron spray on shines,Meguiars tyre gel which leaves a sticky residue and don't last that long or good old boot polish. I listen to the owner as to what he wants and use the right product for the job. For my car i use Meguiars Natural Vinyl And Rubber sprayed onto a window defogging glove i found in my bathroom. I spray a small section on the glove and wipe on. Easier than using the meguiars tyre gel applicator sponge or brushing on and covers all the tyre where as some spray on, no buff shines don't get into the little areas. I top with valvoline citrus scent tyre shine which is aerosol and dries within a minute and leaves an ultra smooth finish. It isn't shilacky or glossy and no residue remains and it lasts a long time. Of course a major downpour of water will turn the tyres brown.

Yeah, there is no "best". The "best" becomes what you like in the end. I use Eagle One Wet Tire, it's cheap, not to greasy, no fling (let it sit at least a couple hours). I apply with the curved EO tire swipes, 2 squirts on swipe then go around tire. I clean my ties with EF HI Cleaner and stiff brush.

I also have some EF BO and 303 in the holster, but haven't used because the EO's been cheap and effective.

No Touch Wet Look. $7 for 3 cans at Costco. They contain no harmful products. Plus, it lasts for a long time. For the longevity and price, this is my favorite.

I've been very happy using Poorboy's Bold 'N' Bright dressing. It leaves a nice satin sheen on my tires, just the way I like them to look. I clean the tires first, then spray BnB on each tire and let it sit a few min. (usually the time it takes for me to go around to each tire) then come back and scrub it in with a folded terry towel. It dries quickly with no sling that I can notice and can last for 1-2 weeks.

Take care.............V

I have personally tried the following products, as follows:

1. Megs Endurance Tire Gel

2. Megs Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel

3. Eagle One Wet Tire Gel

4. Blackfire Tire Gel

5. Eimann Fabirk Black Opal Tire Dressing

All of the above products provide good gloss for the tire. However, ALL OF THEM sucks in terms of "durability" more specifically when it rains... they get easily stripped off your tires.

The most durable tire gel / dressing I have ever treid is Turtle Wax 2001 Tire Gel. It really last for a long time even if you happen to cross a flooded street or your tires get wet 2 to 3 days of continious rain.

If you want durability use TURTLE WAX 2001 TIRE GEL.

I've tried a few and so far I like Vinylex. Apply it and let it sit overnight (for best results) then wipe next morning if it's a little wet.

I clean the tire with EO AtoZ first and let dry.

Can't wait to read about the Guru Reports on Tire Dressing.

Turtle Wax 2001 Tire Gel should have better durability rating than all the other products that I have identified and mentioned first-above because I have personally used all the products and have seen / observed / tested them. Without any doubt, Turtle Wax 2001 Tire Gel was more durable than all the others by a very big margin.
