best protection(wax)

I am looking for the best protection for my new truck. The truck is outside 24-7 and under trees alot. Shine is nice nice but my #1 concern is protection and something that last. I am in the Houston area and the air and rain here are pretty crappy. This is a medium to dark metallic red. My local shop recommended Opti products(opti-seal), I have tried ClearKote on previous vehicles and was not impressed. I will not be polishing this truck yet just need something to keep it from the elements. Please advise

Colonite 476. Suit of armour in a can!!!!

Agreed. 476 or 845. Which ever one you can get your hands on. Some boat marine's will sell it, also most Harbor Freights carry it. Luckily we have "The Andersons" here in Columbus, Oh 2 miles away from me that sell it. :spot

Collinite 467s or 845, FK1 1000p or Ultima Paint Guard Plus.

+1.

Collinite 476S = Collinite #885. This is one of the most durable products I've come across assuming surface prep is correct.

I applied FK1 1000p on my car this past weekend. It's supposed to be as durable, but with a nicer look.

My dk red car, 2 layers of 1000p:

Enjoy.

845 FTW!!!!!

zaino = overrated IMO...i have used a whole kit down to the last drop, never really got the results that warranted the price/time!

I have to say FK1000P, its worth the extra bit of time over colinite 845, unless you glaze the paint first. Three coats of 1000P and I get months of winter protection even with weekly no touch washes. I have it side by side with Zymol Vintage, and I cannot see a diff, yet 1000P will outlast it by far. The price is great. Check out Finish Kare online.

Cheers,

GREG

I have had excellent experience getting 7+ months of protection in Northeast winters from both Collinite (476/885 or 845) and Finish Kare 1000P.
