best protection(wax)

+1 on the Blitz Wax. That stuff is hard out of the can and a bit difficult to work with to me suggests that it's leaving a very hard finish. Looks great too.

What I like is that when it's targeted by a bird and the sun already got to it, I can simply wipe the crap off with ease using a moistened towel. Every other wax I've used required some soapy water and some pressure to get the bird turd off.

Which confirms my hard as nail opinion about Blitz. The bird turd doesn't penetrate it, so there's no need for soapy water or rubbing to get it off. FWIW, I wax my cars once a month and wash them every week.

For ultimate paint protection, 'cause lots of things will eat through even the best waxes, I've found the "Klasse twins" or "Werkstat twins," used before waxing of course, to help. They're acrylic based sealants that really seem to work and make the finish look great even before waxing. Some people don't even wax it because they like the brighter look and provide very good protection on their own.

But I like the look of Blitz, and another layer of solid protection certainly can't hurt.

Got Zaino All-in-one and then Z5Pro. Nothing will last longer.

I used to use Zaino, and I can confirm, it does *last* a long time. It is certainly one of the longest *lasting* sealants/waxes out there. However, Zainos long *lasting* formula will not *protect* better than Collinite. This comes from experience using both, extensively.

I've used both 845 and Zaino. Over an extended period of time 845 will trap more dirt, salt and road rash than Zaino. Road salt splash seems to kill the beading of 845 much faster than Zaino. On the higher portions of the vehicle where salt doesn't splash up 845 lasts much longer.

Agreed, 100%. Zaino is a very good looking sealant, and those looks last a long, long time. But when it comes to environmental protection, it falls down flat. For a show car or a garage queen, it's hard to beat Zaino. But it can not be considered an adequate substitute for Collinite, 1000P or UPGP for protection.

If the "environmental protection" falls down flat wouldn't that kill the Zaino beading? IME Zaino holds up well to dirt fallout (literally coal plant dirt and gypsum and other minerals falling from the sky during a rain-yes I live near a couple loading/unloading points where those items get picked up by the wind and deposited on my car ), pollen and normal environment.

There is only one thing that I have found will eat through Zaino and that is ash from burning garbage if it is on the paint and it gets wet from rain or dew. If the ash is blown off before getting wet the Zaino is fine.

No. Just because a product is *on* your paint doesn't mean it is providing protection. Zaino can still be on the paint, but allowing stuff to get through.

I really was hesitant to make that "I agree" post, because any time Zaino is questioned, the thread deteriorates to "it works!", "no it doesn't", followed by "your Mamma!" etc, etc.

Everyone has different opinions on different products. *IMO*, Zaino is a very good looking sealant that provides that look for a long time, but it does not provide nearly as good of (if any) environmental protection as the Collinites, 1000P, UPGP, or any of a myriad other LSP's. This is after using it and comparing it to other LSP's for the last seven years.

However, if it works for you, that's great! As Mike Phillips says, "Find something *you* like, and use it often."

Thanks for all the great recommendations. I was pretty set on FK1000P or UPGP, now it looks like I have to do a little research on Collinites :bigups

i agree..and btw. collinite 845 can be found at SOME napa auto parts... i got my first sample from an autopian, but right when i ran out, i got some at napa in Milford Delaware.... on my way to school ha...
