Best OTC Carpet Stain Remover?

Looks like i will be picking up some Folex, unless anybody knows of any products available OTC that do a better job.

Thanks

Also, note that if you don't have an extractor, Folex works wonders on microsuede and regular non-leather/non-vinyl upholstery. I did some fantastic transformations with this stuff and a strong wet/dry vac before I bought my extractor.

What kind of stains are we taking about?

For grease and tar stains, I like WD-40's Spot Shot.

For protein stains, like vomit or blood, I am trying General Spotter made by Spotting Solution, Inc. (Spotting Solutions Stain Removers). It was given to me to try by a carpet dealer/installer-and-cleaning service.

Going to carpet stores in your area is another option you have to finding dedicated carpet-cleaning chemicals that are more "professional/industrial" in how they work, but you will pay a premium price as well versus over-the-counter chemicals from mainstream big-box stores.

Folex generally works quite well. I'll do a one-two punch if I'm working a tough stain (Folex followed by Resolve) coupled with ShopVac extraction.

I picked up Folex and its not working on an old cofee stain. I will probably be trying Chemical Guys Lightning Fast as i've heard excellent reviews on it.

Coffee stains will probably require a tannin remover.Theyre different from stuff like Folex and other cleaners.

Years ago Fermani told me to get AutoMagic EZ Clean HD, I bought a gallon - and at 32:1 ratio, I have a lifetime supply. Anyway, yesterday I was trying to eat lunch at my desk when the "big boss" walked up and asked me about stains on the carpet. He had the whole floor of the building redone, new desks, phones, carpet, etc, and he wants to keep it looking good. I had gave him a kit, quart bottle of AM EZ Clean, some terry cloth towels and a brush. He asked if I thought that would work on some stains near his office. OK, stopped chewing and proceeded to spray, pray, brush and watch as he blotted up the stains with the towels. He was friggin amazed, never saw a manager in a suit down on his hands & knees wiping up a carpet and enjoying himself so much! It really worked, and these were coffee and food stains. If you can get a quart or less, you'll be set, I think you have to get it on-line now. I also use it in my soak bucket for dirty MF towels.

OP - Folex

Coffee will cause an immovable stain if left to ‘dye’, so remove as soon as feasible. All-purpose Spot Lifter is a strong, but safe, multi-stain remover. It may be used on any surface in a vehicle, office or home. We offer it as a problem solver for carpet and fabric upholstery. It's also great as a pre-spray for carpet cleaners. Water based pH 9, (citrus) spot remover effective on oil and water based stains such as blood, soft drinks, light grease, oil, tar, coffee, tea, floor finishes, copier toner, spills, dirt, grime and more. Don’t forget the carpet padding, once treated allow to dry thoroughly before replacing the carpet - TOTL.
