1st you are able to pick it up at a local Car Quest.

2nd it doesnt cost an arm an a leg

3nd the cleaner does a fantastic job

4rd the conditioner works flawlessly

5th it actually smells like new leather, its right up there with zaino conditioner.
Which cleaner & conditioner are you refering to? Duragloss Vinyl/Leather Treatments So far we only have this one, and love it!

I have really enjoyed my bottle of pinnacle leather cleaner/conditioner and will be reordering. Leaves the seats soft and supple, not greasy/slippery, and has a matte appearance when done.

The important think to remember is what type of leather finish is on the surface. Many new automobiles use leather that has a water repleancy to the top surface. Other use soft leather that still may be water proofed.

The two things that degrae leather are salt and moister. Taking a micro fiber towel rinsed out in warm water or a Magic Wand disposable cleaning foram pad with a neutral PH leather cleaner will pull the dirt safely, do not for get to wipe down with a clean soft cloth .

New leathers respond differently to conditioning so any trusted dame mentioned here on this forum should do the leather well.

Ive been very satisfied with Wolfgang's pair. The conditioner smells like natural leather, pretty nice. Leaves the leather soft and with a nice matte finish. Cleaner works great, but its kinda expensive considering the Duragloss does just as good of a job.

I have a Lexus and found that the Lexus branded Leather Conditioner has worked best for my needs. I was looking to keep my leather in supple, non-greasy, non-glossy condition just like it came from the factory. I also wanted a conditioner that didn't smell too strongly either. I tried Zaino (the smell was too strong and dried with some streaks), Pinnacle (too greasy and smell was too strong), and Lexol (too greasy and sticky)....and found that the Lexus Leather Conditioner was the best product for my requirements.

I like Lexol products, and haven't found them to be greasy or sticky. We have a Toyota van, XLE Limited - that my wife keeps showroom clean even with 2 kids. A guy at a detailing shop recomended Lexol and we've been satisfied with it. I used it on a 6 year old Buick the other day and it brought back the leather to 99.9 % new. And this was a car I spent 2 and a half hours on - just washing! It made the customer happy enough for a nice tip too!

For BMWs, which I do a lot of, I use BMW leather cleaner+conditioner. It smells like a new BMW, isn't glossy at all(just enough sheen to let you know it is on the surface), and gives the "right" feel to the seats. Not greasy or slick, but not tacky, just the perfect factory feeling. I still am trying to find another good conditioner, though(I clean with Woolite+Water), and it seems I have narrowed it down to either 4* Leather Conditioner or the Chemical Guys product.

Es350, I didn't try the separate Pinnacle cleaner and conditioner products, the one I have is a one stepper. It does not leave anything greasy whatsoever, and has a weak if any smell. Strange our results would be so different. Did you use the separated products or how long ago was this?

Zaino Z-9 and Z-10 have been a big favorite for me on Lexus leather and other leathers that have a strong "leathery" smell.

Now that I have a new 06 Porsche C2S, I find that Porsche leather has a very unique smell/odor. Somewhat cleaner smelling.

Therefore, Z-10 is overpowering for the Porsche.

I tried SONUS leather cleaner and the conditioner. Oddly enough, the cleaner is a thicker gel and the conditioner is a thin milky looking liquid. WHat I found out was that SONUS conditioner re-feeds the natural oils and tanning odors in the leather rather than masking it with a heavy fragrance of leather. The SONUS has an odd odor from the bottle. But, in doing so, releases the original smell of your leather.

I was very please to open the door of my Porsche and smell the leather as it did when I took delivery.

You can get 100's of leather products that have a leather fragrance, but this is the ONLY ONE that can release the original smells of your leather.

Give it a try. If you don't care for it and want a strong new car leather smell, then use the Zaino Z-10.

Chemical Guys

Yes, their conditioner and their cleaner are great. I use to have a C70. I have used natural look, pinnacle ect that are all good but the CG stuff is the best on my cars imo. My second choice is Pinnacle (very easy to use).

If you do BMW leathers, then try the SONUS Leather Conditioner. It was developed by a fellow Porsche owner who used factory skin still in the bag to get the effects correct for German leathers.

You'll find it's very thin liquid and odd smelling in the bottle. But, once on the leather, it brings it back to original odor and has that same matte finish along with no slick feeling. In fact, I'm now going to use it prior to D.E. events at the track since it makes the seats somewhat non-slip.

Give it a shot!

I used the separated products that you can buy at CMA. I don't know if the separated products have a stronger smell. When I had my Honda, the Pinnacle was fine. But when I bought my es350, the Pinnnacle smell was just too strong; the smell overpowered everything else. Also, the Pinnacle was really very slick on the Lexus leather.

Like I said, I tried several other brands too. However, the Lexus Leather Conditioner provided the best balance in terms of conditioning the leather while still leaving the leather soft but not greasy and allowing the leather to give off its own natural smells instead of trying to add a "leather" smell to the interior. At first I was skeptical of the Lexus Leather Conditioner, so I tried the other brands and didn't find a good fit. But it turns out the Lexus Leather Conditioner haf\s been the best fit for my car.

From reading through this thread, I see that opinions seem to differ from product to product, in terms of preferance & what works for each of us. That's what makes this forum so great. So in adding my 2 cents to the fray, I suggest the following:

I used the Lexol products for years without any problems. The cleaner is ph balanced & cleans well. The conditioner, well, "conditions" well. The neatsfoot dressing dresses & hydrates, but is a bit "oily". I always had to come back 24 hours later to give my newly Lexol treated leather a final wipedown. I think Lexol really shines when "restoring" neglected, dried out leather. That's Lexol's calling, IMO, leather restoration. All in all, not a bad "system" to use. I've since moved on from Lexol due to the fact that I've found some "better" leather products to use for "routine" treatments.

Zaino Z9 & Z10 , IMO, are terrific leather products. They perform well without over cleaning & over conditioning. non "oily" as well. The Z10 is pretty versitile. Can be used on vinyl as well.

The CG leather cleaner & the CG leather conditioner are also products that I have started using as of late. I would rate them ahead of the Lexol system. But at the moment, I'm not ready to rate them above the Z9/Z10 combo due to the fact that I haven't been using them long enough to form a valid opinion on them. So far though, they're "solid" leather products, IMO, and I will continue to use them.

The "top dog" of my leather arsenal is clearly the Sonus products. ( once again, just my opinion ) I think that David B has hit the ball out of the park with theses babies! I find myself reaching for the Sonus leather twins time after time for my cars leather. Cleans very well & conditions very well. Non over powering scents, to boot.

Overall, I give the Sonus leather products the #1 rating in my arsenal, With Z9/Z10 a #1a rating. Honorable mention goes to CG for their leather products.

Other decent leather products products I've used over the years are the Meg's & Wolfgang leather products. Both have proven to be "worthy" products to use and make for fine additions to any detailing arsenal.

Plenty of "worthy" choices out there!

Well I'm glad to hear something good about the Neatsfoot conditioner since I just picked up a bottle. Apparently its discontinued but I got one from AG since they still have some in stock, none of my local stores have it anymore. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I'm glad to hear its good at restoring leather since my car's front seats weren't up to my standards ever since I bought the car, and the products I've been using up until now were more of the "maintenance" type so I never saw large improvements.

So for those of you who want to give Lexol's Neatsfoot a try get it while you can.
