Beer

If you guys are ever in Ann Arbor, MI, try out a Fat Abbot at ABC (Arbor Brewing Company.) A bit heavy and a little on the sweet side but finishes well.



Only problem is it has about 2.5x normal alcohol content of regular beers so there's a 2 beer limit.

There is also an XX Bitter from Belgium which I cannot find. I hear it is a very sought after brew.
 
Last night went over some friends house with a couple of bottles of Piraat Triple 10.5%, 11oz. bottle. The three of us drank this brew with some nice results, sweet with a huge head. Everyone like it and got a little buzz, not bad for 2 bottles among three people. Today I'm have an Ayinger Jahrhundert Bier, nice, does not taste like a lager to me.

DON'T. Not only should you be proud to be a redneck, but you should also be take comfort in knowing you know what you like! Not only that, but I like to drink more than 6 beers when I'm out! If you are out to eat and having a good cigar, than thats a different story (or if you are Irish and have a complex about drinking heavy beers!). Personally, I drink Bud Light 99% of the time, the other 1% is when I have a Newcastle after work with my coworkers.

Not me. I avoid crappy domestic beer at all costs. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know how someone can go to a good pub and have 30+ awesome beers at their disposal, and order Miller Lite or something. I have been on a Newcastle kick lately, but I'd still have to go with Guinness as the champ. I can't resist making a Black and Tan or Half and Half at home. Practice makes perfect with the pouring technique, and I've gotten pretty good now. Any Fuller's product is pretty good too. I know a guy that does home brewing, and he makes some great beers (and he doesn't use Mr. Beer either).

It's all relative. Newcastle = crappy domestic beer in, um, Newcastle. Not a huge fan of Bud Light, but I do see where it can have a place to drink.
 
I like good old Bud most of the time, but always buy Shiner Bock when I can find it down here in Fla. Back in Texas, Shiner Bock was EVERYWHERE.



Fat Tire Amber Ale is a great beer too, but very hard to find here.

I was out for dinner the other night, and the waitress recited the "Coors, Coors Light, Bud, Bud Light....' and then said they have Blue Moon wheat beer. I tried it, and it was pretty decent; came with an orange slice, which added a bit to the whole experience rather than ruined it (ie, the beer was good with or without the orange slice).



I got home and looked it up on Beer Advocate (been a member there for about a year), and the consensus was exactly that; brewed by Coors, but not too bad at all.
 
I never met people that drank Hoegaarden on purpose. I personally think white ales are hideous. I remember being in England with my brothers and we were in a pub. My youngest brother, probably already on his way to having too many, ordered a Hoegaarden and as soon as it hit his mouth he spit it back out. I still remember the taste of that stuff, yuck. Beer is cool because there are SO MANY kinds, and so many people like different ones. Makes it a fun hobby.
 
For a Belgium white try LaChouffe, http://www.achouffe.be/newen/index.php this is probally my favorite beer of all time very easy dirnking, bottle conditioned and rather potent, Hoegaarden is like Johnson wax compared to La chouffe as Souvern or Klasse.

My favorite English ales are Black Sheep, http://www.blacksheepbrewery.com/ , Tanners jack, Hens Tooth, and sam Smith's organic brews are also good

Old suffolk and Samuel Smith Taddy porter for dark beers

Oh, Mc choffe is a geat Belgium brown ale

If I drink enough of any of the above maybe I wont see the streaks in my black paint, I'm really beginning to hate black
