Beer Time

Last night I tried J W Dundee's Honey Brown lager. This is by far my most favorite beer I've ever tried! 4.5% ABV, I could not get enough- even the lady likes it!

On taste - Different stokes for different folks, Myself I like simi-warm about 50-60*not to bitter not to sweet and an after taste.

Did you know that if beer has an alcohol content of 10% legally here in Ca they have to call it a wine.

WSU,

Glad to see you venturing out and trying some new brew's, there are thousands out there though, LOL So I guess your a Lager Head?

The other night I tried a Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold lager. This was much better on my palate than the SA Boston Lager. 5.80% ABV, I found it increasingly easier to drink as I progressed.

Great Lakes Brewery has some nice beers. The Dortmunder seems to be a classic/typical lager. Nothing wrong with that though, it's very good. Many of their beers are too dark for me, though I like a good Elliot Ness now and then. The Edmund Fitzgerald is a bit too heavy for me.

My dad grew up in Cleveland, and we have family there. So anytime we go I always have to bring him back some Great Lakes beers.

I also like the honey brown lager. It's very mild and easy to drink, and the honey taste is just right. I get a craving for one every blue moon or so. :)

Will be having a 750ml of Unibroue Don De Dieu later on today. This should be an awesome brew, as with just about anything from Unibroue.

Well, I am more of a light beer drinker these days, but I did get a gift cert. for this place http://www.incredibrew.com/ I'd like to make some IPA. I like really hoppy beer. We have some good breweries here in NH. I used to go more when I was in college, but if I am in the area of one, I'll stop in.

Today I'm having a Wasatch Apricot Hefe, it's a nice little beer. This brewery makes some awesome session brews, I'm glad there is something good locally.

Funny beer photo-

My fiance and I went to Belgium in '99. We ordered two large beers. This is my fiance with the beer.

Just finished a Samuel Adams Brown Ale and a Black Lager. Very nice beers.

Never had the Brown Ale, but the Black Lager is very good. Does SA even make a mediocre brew? LOL

I almost bought myself some of those mugs. Now those are some nice mugs. Thanks for sharing.

I made chili last night, and needed a good traditional/dortmunder style lager to mix in it. So I picked up a pack of Old Dominion Lager and added half a bottle. It seems like such a plain style of beer, but every time I have one I'm impressed. It's very flavorful while still being very mild and traditional.

I've started using Sierra Nevada Stout and Porter's in my chili. Also will try some Shiner Bock in the future. Good luck in your chili receipe's.

Yes...a beer thread. My favorite! I'm lucky enuf to have two brewerys in the town I live in. The both make some good brew. Strong Tartanic Scottish Ale (7.85%), Portage Porter...goes good with smores, Expedition ESB, Organic Pale Ale or OPA is it's called. I call it opiated pale ale. It really kicks. I love sittn on the deck inthe middle of winter at a ski hill on a bright sunny day with a full pint of the Porter. Tuff trying to lose weight tho. Does anyone else live near a microbrewery? We just take in half gallon jugs to fill up. They will fill personal kegs also.

Another great Sunday! Today I'm having a Three Philosophers from Ommegang. It's a Quadrupel 04 Edition, very tasty, tangy and sweet. Anyone else having a brew today?

John, im beginning to think you have a problem

Kidding of Course, Leffe Blond today...... followed by a coat of UPP in the garage all leading up to the premier of the Sopranos......
