Beer Time

AFter a well done detailing job I love to sit down, look at the glossy paint and drink a cool german beer called Hefeweizen. Its made in bavaria and its very very good.

Back to brown ale from the local brew pub again. It came in one of those old fashioned half barrels. It's round, with no handles on it (boy was that fun to carry down the stairs) and has a wooden bung on the side. I'm amazed it holds pressure. It has "Berghoff Brewery, Ft. Wayne, IN" stamped into the top.

All my life Berghoff was brewed by Huber Brewing in Monroe, WI (I used to race a guy from Monroe, but that's another story). I did some research and found that the Fort Wayne brewery was sold by the Berghoffs to Falstaff in 1954, who ran the brewery until 1990. The equipment was shipped to China to brew Pabst beer there! Anyway the Berghoff restaurant in Chigago that closed after 107 years of operation is open again, and Huber still brews Berghoff beer.

My first brew for today, I always love to try new beers from this brewery, again they do not disappoint. Smuttynose Maibock, very tasty. You people in New England have a great brewery there. CHEERS!

Another bomber tonight of Bershire Traditional Pale Ale, pretty malty, smooth, and very very tasty, really liking this brewing so far.
