Beer Time

[Wasatch]

Going to dinner tonite and looked at a menu online in advance. Surprisingly, the restaurant actually has a few beers that I've never tried but seem to get really good review/ratings....it is quite surprising to see some of these...most restaurants around here have very poor selections.



Here are the choices that caught my interest (all bottles):

Abita Amber

Xingu

Anchor Steam

Rogue Dead Guy Ale

Maredsous

Chimay (Red, White, and Blue)

Morimoto

Tennents

Sapporo



I'm strongly considering trying either the Anchor Steam or Chimay (blue or red) offerings. What do you guys think is a good choice?

The Chimays for sure, I like the Blue the best though. Anchor Steam is a classic goes good with anything in my book. The Rogue Dead Guy is a great Maibock brew. I have a bottle of the Maredsous 8, but have not gotten to it yet. If the Morimoto is the Rogue Imperial Pilsner, go for it, it's delicious, but watch out it is 8.8% ABV, lol

Tonight a very nice APA from Oskar Blues, Dale's Pale Ale.

Second up, a Keegan Ales, Hurricane Kitty, tasty, but an IPA on the maltier side.

Tonight a very nice APA from Oskar Blues, Dale's Pale Ale.

Nice coincidence... I was just coming to post about their Old Chub Scottish Ale that I tried for the first time this weekend. I was shocked an amazed to taste such a good beer out of a can. It was a very good Scottish Ale. Too bad I've never seen their stuff here in OR (I was in CO this past weekend).

Tonight a Magic Hat Blind Faith a tasty English IPA.

Last night I tried a Rogue Shakespeare Stout. Too much hop for my liking, but definitely quality for the category.

Tonight a 750ml of Allagash Dubbel Reserve, very tasty.

My second brew for the night a Diamond Bear Pale Ale, a nice malty English Pale Ale.

Third brew for the night, a River Horse Belgian Frostbite, tasty and quite different.

This brew tonight is for the passing of Michael Jackson (The Beer Hunter) and author of some great books on beer. Here's to you Michael, Cheers! A Ballast Point Black Marlin Porter, pretty tasty.

Second brew for the night, a Victory St. Boisterous, a nice Maibock at that.

Tonight a Smuttynose Barleywine Style Ale (Big Beer Series), a very nice brew.

I am saddened to hear of his passing. Had a couple bocks from Old Boys Brewhouse in Spring Lake, MI, as well as a glass of Spyeburn scotch. Cheers, Michael, you will be missed! :brit

Today to start off with, a Magic Hat Hocus Pocus, not a bad Pale Wheat Ale at all, a nice thirst quencher.

Second up, a Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, more on the malty side, but pretty tasty.

Number three for the night, a Stoudt's American Pale Ale, pretty tasty, more on the malty side though.

Today so far a very tasty brew from New Belgium, La Folie Wood Aged Beer, a classic.

For my second brew of the day, I went with a Southern Tier Hop Sun, an Pale Wheat Ale with a very nice twist, very tasty, highly recommended.

For my third brew tonight, a tasty American Strong Ale from Legacy Brewing, a Hedonism.
