are you gonna wait the 6 years they suggest to open one . . .heheh

No, I've had them already a couple of months, will wait a little while longer for at least one bottle.

Got some Harpoon Winter Warmers tonight. I was very disappointed with the offering last year, was too spicy, not warming as a Christmas Ale should be imo.

Well, at about 5.5% ABV you can't get to much of a warming effect, LOL If you can, try the Great Divide Hibernation Ale which is considered a American Strong Ale, but comes out in the winter months, clocks in at 8% ABV, should warm you up a bit, LOL Another brew and is a winter warmer is Bridgeport Ebenezzer at 6.4% ABV is very tasty. Anderson Valley Winter Solstice is very nice at 6.9% ABV is very nice as well.

My offering for tonight were the following, first up was the Terrapin Big Hoppy Monster, very tasty, second was the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, this brew surprised the **** out of me, one of the best Russian Imperial Stout's I've had to date, if you can get this, do it.

Hey John,

I've got a question for you... I noticed that my local store has quite a few of the Bear Republic brews and was wondering what you'd recommend? I know you've had several of them, from what i recall.

Thanks!

I think I've only had 3 of them, Racer 5, Big Bear Black Stout, and Hop Rod Rye. If you like IPAs, DIPAs, and Stout's you will love these brew's. From what I've had and read Bear Republic is a top notch brewer, you can't go wrong IMHO.

Today so far having a bomber of Weyerbacher Double Simcoe, if you like DIPAs, you will love this one. Anyone else having a brew for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?
