Beer Time

I had a Gritty McDuff's Black Fly Stout last night.....very tastey. There are a few really good micro breweries in Maine that I'm just starting to discover (Wish I had stumbled apon them before:dig)

Good for you. In the New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont areas:

Allagash

Smutty Nose

Harpoon

Magic Hat

Otter Creek

Enjoy

Tonight having my last 05 Stone Double *******, poured into my Arrogant ******* 22oz. glass. I do have 2 06 DBs though, LOL

Tonight a couple of new brew's for me, first up a Bells Hopslam, mighty tasty, one of the best DIPAs I've had to date; for my second brew a Goose Island Oatmeal Stout, very nice. I highly recommend both, but especially the Hopslam.

Today was a Hair of the Dog "Fred" for me.

Hair of the Dog is a very small brewery here in Portland that specializes in big, bottle conditioned beers, that actually age very well for years (they claim to have some Fred still aging from 10 years ago).

Fred is a "Golden Special Ale" as they refer to is. Deep amber in color (not sure why they call it golden), very full in flavor... it clocks in at 10% and 65 IBU's. It's a very tasty brew. I also picked up a bottle of the "Doggie Claws" seasonal barley wine. I can't decide if I should pop that open soon, or hold onto it for a while.

Good to hear! I just found them recently, as they don't sell in most of the stores, even though they're local. So far, I've really been liking what I've tried.

having my first dogfish head 60 min ipa tonight. good copper/orange color, not too much of a head and fine lacing. i'm not good at identifying the flavors, but this seems to taste a bit hoppy to me.

the 120 min ipa was so killer !!!! i also have a bottle of the 90 min ipa in the fridge.

You will love the 90 Min. IPAs and DIPAs most are of hops, some malts, citrus (grapefruit) , and spices.

Tonight I'm having a couple of Goose Island IPAs, a nice one at that, only clocking in at 5.9%, so not that hoppy, but very tasty.

anyone ever have trout river, rainbow red ale? Its a vt beer that I love, but havent been back up there in a while to pick any up :( I need to make a trip soon and grab some cases (or have a fellow autopian from vt send me some ;) )

Today has been a couple of Great Divide Hibernation Ales. A very good winter brew. I also picked up a Dogfish 90 Minute IPA at the store today, I haven't tried that one yet, only the 60 minute, which I liked.

A couple of new brew's today for me, first a Mendocino Red Tail Lager, and second a Great Divide Ridgeline Amber Ale.
