I finally have local access to Dogfish Head 60 and 90-Minute IPA -- which would be the preferred choice if you've not had either?

Well, the right answer is to pick up both! :D

If you're gonna pick one, it'll depend on what you like/are in the mood for. The 90 minute is much stronger and has a lot more malt flavor, it's not super hoppy like an Imperial IPA or anything. The 60 is easier drinking, but also has some noticeable malt character. Both are more balanced than a lot of IPA's, don't expect a hop-monster in either one of them because of the malt.

I like them both a lot, I'd go with the 60 if you're looking for something easier drinking, and the 90 for something stronger and maltier.

Since it's about 100F out, I'll stick with easier drinking for tonight, thanks for the suggestion!

I would go with the 90 min., it blows the 60 min. out the water.

Having a Hoppin' Frog Brewery, B.O.R.I.S. The Crusher Oatmeal Imperial Stout, this brew ROCKS, BIG BIG BIG, get some.

Starting this afternoon off with an awesome DIPA clocking in at 13.6% ABV. Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree IPA.

Some Old Jubilation tonight from Avery Brewing, tasty and pretty smooth for a dark beer (not usually a fan of darker beers). Looking at reviews I agree, this one will sneak up on you after a couple.

Tonight a bomber of Full Sail Top Sail Imperial Porter, glad to have this as a local, very tasty.
How is it compared to their regular Pale Ale, which was decent?

First of all, their two totally different brews. The Pale Ale is ok, nice little dose of hops, citrus, and caramel. Maybe try the Wreck The Halls, or SlipKnot. Full Sail just came out with the Son Of Spot which is suppose to be pretty tasty.

Really love the brew's from this brewery, having a Port Brewing Company/The Lost Abbey Wipeout I.P.A., very very tasty and hoppy.

I'll give another vote for Wreck the Halls... one of my favorite Full Sail beers, definitely.

My second brew of the night is a very tasty Quad from New Glarus, Unplugged Belgian Quadruple, MAN! this is very nice, nice touch of cherries, malts, slight spices, apricots, and caramel. If you can get your hands on some, DO IT!

John thanks for the rec on Tommyknocker, had the Pick Axe Pale Ale last night and loved it, one of the best Pale Ales I've had IMO. Definitely going to search for some Imperial Nut Brown Ale.
