GOT PREP?
Hi all, it's been a while since I have had time to post anything. I recently quit my 9-5 and started detailing full time. I am renting space from a large accessorie and performance shop in town. So far, business has been more than I can keep up with--hopefully it stays that way.
Detailing full time is certainly different from just doing a few on the weekends. IMO, if you are going to get into this business, you better have a passion for it.
So far, so good......
Both of these cars came in for mods (headers, cam, exhaust, etc) and both owners ended wanting details. These cars have less than 2500 miles on them--one of them was stuill in drive-outs.
The clear was *very* soft. I was able to correct both finiohses with HT HC with an orange 5.5" low-profile pad via PC, followed by BF SRC FP via PC and a white 5.5" low-profile pad via PC. Both were applied with medium pressure @ speed 6.
First one was sealed with OCW, second with #21.
Both sets of tires wear HD 1:1
The car was essentially covered in marks like this. Yep, brand new, still in drive outs!
After about 8 hours of polishing:
