Been a while for me......

ebpcivicsi- Glad to hear the full-time detailing and your affiliation with that shop are working out so well!

Interesting that the Cadillacs have such soft clear.

Is the BF SRC FP your go-to final polish these days? I haven't tried mine yet...any tips for working with it?

Thanks Accumulator, I hope everything stays as it is--or gets busier!! :D

I *really* like the BF product, I am down to my last bit and just ordered the qt of

PO106FF, which is supposed to be exactly the same (without the claimed added lubricants by BF).

If you have used FPII, then the application is the same. I personally only use the PC with low-profile pads now, but with a white pad the finish is amazing and I get *zero* PC haze when finishing down on the softest of clears. I work 16"x16" section with moderate pressure. The product will not really get blotchy like FPII does, so it will take a little time to learn when everthing is broken down (the product stays wetter much longer). Removing it too soon on very soft clear can leave PC haze after rotary work, but you will get the hang of it within two panels. I will not detail without it. IMO, it cuts a touch more than FPII and finishes noticeably better.

Looks amazing! but I have a couple of questions.

Is BF SRC FP, Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish?

If so why would you use is on a soft clear if the polish was designed for a hard clear? Is it just like FPII?

Thanks

I wanted maximum ability to remove any marring left from the HC. The BF SRC FP work *perfectly* on soft clears, or any clears for that matter. In fact, I only know of two products that will finish down correctly on clears that are this soft--the BF FP and FPII. I am hoping the P0106FF can be added to that list as it basically the same as the BF, but I don't have first hand knowledge of that product...yet.

Does that make sense?

Zane, pick up a used one, depreciation pwns that car. :D

Scott and Chris, please do--would love to meet up with you guys and talk shop.

As someone who cut the paycheck-cord years ago, make sure the next picture you take shows your sign in the backround. There's tons of people on the net that would tell a friend in Memphis that "they know" this guy who does phenom work. WOM is a helluva lot more important than an ad in the phone book. Best of luck.

....one other thought: if you rely on your body and energy; then cherry pick the jobs that don't burn you out before your time. I suspect people with beaters are pleased for a day and then complain about the cost thereafter.

5*s from me!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing work. Are you charging your old fees, or did you make adjustments due to paying rent? :goodjob :buffing:

Thanks man, my prices went up just a bit, but my old rates would cover most of my expenses and still allow me to turn profit. I need to grow the business a bit, but I *hope* that with time and the right marketing all will be well. We'll see..........

Thanks everyone!! :D

ebpcivicsi- Thanks for explaining about the BF polish. Gee, maybe it'll come between me and my beloved (and stockpiled :o ) 1Z Pro MP!

And I think it's just *great* the way you've accomplished so much! All that hard work pays off, huh?

No problem, hope you like it as much as I do. :D

I am hoping that it will pay off. :waxing:

Great job like always.

Joe, any pics of your shop ;)

I just took these about 30 seconds ago--sorry about the beater, she's having her floors cleaned. :D

When I moved in it was bare concrete and walls, so it's been a challenge. I still have a few things to add, but I am pretty functional with what I have now.

I share the space with a tint guy...

Looking back the other way....

tn_IMG_5710.jpg

To your right of my space is a roll up door, on the other side is the new showroom.

Poor me, I have to buff the Noble tomorrow. :D

tn_IMG_5713.jpg

Here's the rest of the showroom, again, my space is behind all of this. There is also another shop directly adjacent to me, but separated by a wall (that's where the dyno, wheel mounting etc is located).

Right now I am washing outside and bringing the cars in. We might add a wash bay indoors(there are already sanitary drains located near the rear door). Or more likely, we will build a metal building out back to house the washing supplies(thing 1.5-car-sized metal building that is fully enclosed). I have to tell you though, detailing in a climate controlled environment can certainly spoil you--I love the detailing area. :D

Wow very impressive :bow

Nice and clean and roomy too. How many cars can you fit in there? Are you start hiring people to work with you?

Thanks man, right now it's just me, but I have a few guys that help me out on the weekend.

We had about 8 cars in here last week, but it was pretty packed. :D
