Azure Blue Mustang Mach I on my BD

Thanks for the compliments :)

A little note about the before and after pics...I cranked the F-Stop down in the before pic to capture the swirls/etchings better. In the afters, the settings were in "Auto".

About my teg...The whole body kit came off...My old bumpers went on as well as my stock rims painted flat black...The side skirts are stock and the trunk is wingless. Once I get a chance to polish her out and hit with Zaino, I'll get a couple pics up.

Navindra: Yeh, the color is like Smurf Blue :D... Took me about 3 hours total work time, but spent about 4 hours since I was chatting with the client. :)

Vernon: Yeah, that angle produced nice glowing reflections for the teg :)

eShine: Only on the hottest of days is when it interferes and only slightly. The sun on these days helped to amplify the defects but did not affect the surface temperature much at all. I have only used a PC once...The defects weren't *that* bad as the car is very well cared for. I'm sure with a slightly more aggressive polish/pad/speed, the PC could've knocked those defects out.

UnsanePyro: Where in RI are you located? My bro goes to Johnson and Wales and I'm sure I could stay there for a night if the detail ran late.

Thanks again :wavey

Outstanding.jpg ;)

Very nice work as always, Sean. Normally, I'd use NXT on blue but EX also looks really good and has been more durable for me, which makes it a better choice with winter on the way.

What rational are you using when deciding on your LSP?

Thanks :)

hirosh posted his Azure Blue Mach here with a few really nice combo's, but the combo that grabbed myself and him the most was the EX topper. Seeing it on the exact color sold me :) ...Plus, the owner had used NXT in the past...figured I'd switch it up and see what he thought. :)

Looks great as always Sean :)

I have to disagree about Ford paint, I have found it to be quite nice, especially later models. My Taurus has an amazing lack of OP

The colors are great n2_space! They are usually rather vibrant with excellent depth.

However, the clear on them tends to pit and etch very easily. Then the swirls are pretty tough to remove. Just an observation.

I'm in Bristol, I'm actually not sure how long of a drive J&W is though, or even how to get there. My guess is that you just get on 95, if you know what I mean ;)

The cars paint is swirled quite a bit, but very lightly. There are some parts that could use some attention though, if I get some pictures and everything, could you give me an estimate?

seeing another azure blue mach1 also tickles me. i just seen another one today! :p

you're right about ford paint. well, maybe it is just the azure blue, but man does mine's have OP and already a bunch of chips.

but awesome job! :xyxthumbs i've found EX x2 plus Natty's x2 is also quite nice. oh and AIO + SG on the rims really shines them up and lets the metallic grey sparkle. NXT on the rims also does a nice job too. but yeah, out of trying NXT, Meg's #26, VM + EX-P, VM+EX-P+CMW, and VM+EX w/carnauba, EX w/carnauba seems to be the best, so far. any thoughts on what else might work?

btw, happy belated birthday! :wavey

depending on what campus your brother is it J&W is #18 off 95 (i went there to so) i dont know where bristol is though but RI is only about a half hour any where.

Thanks :D

hirosh: I gave Craig 2 more ounces of EX which should easily get him a few coats. He also has Natty's too so hopefully all in all he should have one extremely wet looking Mach.

UnsanePyro: Check your PM's.

Thanks for the compliments on the car, guys. If you think the car looks great in the pics, you should see it in person.

The before pics really don't even show how bad things were. I bought the car a year ago from a dealer who had the road in front ripped up and resurfaced. Some underpaid lot attendent must have dry wiped the car a few times and there were scratches everywhere. The hood decal actually had to be replaced because it was scratched so badly. Not wanting to pass up a car that was so rare, I took it anyway, and tried to fill them as best I could using Z5. It looked better, but I didn't want to trying wheeling it. I figured I would wait until I found an expert. So lots of Z5, then NXT, and I started talking to local people. Lots of people talk, but few really deliver.

ENTER THE KING....SEANUS MAXIMUS....ALL HAIL!!!!

For those of you who have never met Sean, he is a great guy. Knowledgable expertise, but never condenscending. He will take the time to explain to you what, why and how he does things. Nothing is rushed, he takes the time to do the vehicle the right way.

I agree that the Ford paint is too soft for it's own good. But the Mach looks better now than new Mustangs I saw at SEMA. (By the way Sean, did you like the DVD?) It is in the garage for the winter. I will give it 2 more coats of EX, then maybe Natty's just for the heck of it. I'll post some pics when I do.

Thanks again Sean. I am still amazed at the job you did (on your birthday no less...), it went way beyond my expectations. When the warm weather hits, I'll let you take her for a ride....

I know :) I agree, with exception to newer models, they seem to be a bit better. But of course it varies from factory to factory (not just model to model even). I know the Taurus was made in Atlanta and Chicago, and the Chicago plant had much better paint. Just my observation :)

Still, in any case, excellent work again :xyxthumbs

Craig, thanks for the reply :)

I appreciate your kind words :D...A ride would be very nice :D...If you do layer, EX x 3, and Natty's x 3 was by far the wettest combo I've used. Normal everyday people were blown away...They really couldn't believe how wet it look :)

i have a few layers of natty's on my darker blue 240, and it does look extremely wet. i love it. but like most auotpians, i will be polishing it again soon, and then trying different combo's:)
