I came down to my storage closet today to find this, I guess I left it open for like 2 days.

That is an intellegent bird!! He could not resist the feel of high quility plush microfiber towels. :D

It is shame though that those towles look like they will be regulated to wheel duty.

luckily those towels or at least the majority of the ruined ones are the eurow mf. I can just go buy another ten pack and ill be done with it. As for the rest of it, ya wheel duty they will become..

just leave it there and when the eggs hatch, they'll be autopia's mascots lol

My mom wouldn't let me remove it, she says the incubation period is like 2 weeks. I figure I could wait.

am I the only one who names the towels as they look @ the pic

I have a problem

That's awesome. so what do you see? haha

Wait a minute, your mom wants you to wait until the bird lays the eggs?? I had a bird build a nest on my front porch, I thought it was cute, until they started crapping all over the place. I think it was the same bird two years in a row...she builds the nest under the porch, then every time you come out the door she takes off like a shot. The first year she knocked one of the chicks out of the nest (which fell to its death), then last year she dumped the whole nest and broke all the eggs.

I would vote to remove the homestead now, she will build a new nest somewhere else before it's time to lay the eggs.

interesting.. ill relay this to her. the only difference is that my storage closet is under the deck so we never go down there. i agree with you tho on the whole building a new nest thing.

We went on vacation a couple years back and came back to wash clothes. The dryer wouldn't dry ANYTHING. After trying a few things I decided to check the vent hose. Sure enough there was a full nest in there with eggs and all.

Leave it as is and you will have hatchlings pretty soon.

You could build a nest box using less than $10 in materials and give the bird a better place to lay its eggs.
