Autopia Video Thread

Wasn't quite that close and man I was glad. Was about 20 rows up at the Daytona 500. A car went by us completely upside down like a glider, I remember watching the bottom of it go by. In the same wreck another car lost it's hood, up in the air, over the fence and came to rest in the 7th row right down in front of us (no one was hurt). These cars are flying.

WARNING: LOUD

I love seeing these Jet trucks in person. If you ever get a chance, go see them! Everyone always loves hearing these things go down the track.

Ray, that video brought back some fond memories. I've seen these trucks run on several occasions. One time I was down in Eastern Texas with my cousin watching a "Night of Fire" race. They had both Jet Cars/Trucks and Rocket Cars/Trucks in attendance that night. The track did not appear to be unlike that one in the video except on the other side of the fence behind the cars there was a row of trees. My cousin had told me to watch the trees as the night went on. The trees literally became bleachers for many who didn't pay for tickets to get in. Two of the Jet Cars came up and did their, for lack of a better word "burn outs". You've never seen people come (read fall) out of trees so fast in your life. It was really a sight.
