i was walking to my car today about 2pm with the sun hitting the driver's side and noticed the door seemed to have a strange paint pattern. the color is metallic black and it looked like every 6 inches the shade changed and got lighter, then back to darker for 6 inches, then lighter again, etc. it almost is perfectly symmetrical and it's such a slight change in hue that probably non-autopians wouldn't see it unless i pointed it out. when the sun set a bit more around 4ish, i couldn't see this effect at all.
initially i considered this to be holograms caused by my PC. when i originally did prep work on the car i just used a light polish by optimum, in fact it's so light i wouldn't have expected any hologramming. not to say you can get holograms from a light polish, but i consider myself pretty good with a PC and wouldn't expect to have holograms. also no other body panels had this, including the door on the other side. and considering the changes in the shade were so slight and so almost perfectly spaced out, i started thinking maybe it's the paint job itself. have you ever seen a factory paint job that seemed to show what i am describing?
