Are there any pictures of Accumulator's cars?

Accumulator is a big reason I still follow this forum 7 years after I joined, even when I'm in one of my "don't care too much about detailing right now" phases. He's a great asset and has been a big help to me personally.

Heh heh...I haven't read this one for a while :chuckle:

Heh heh#2, ya know...despite all the posting I do here, I sometimes think that *I* am always in a "don't care too much about detailing" phase  Not that people in the real world would know it by the look of my vehicles ;) But really, it's not like my vehicles' cosmetics are one of life's top priorities or anything :grinno:

Promoting detailing products to 'cosmetics for our cars'. Now that is a line of defense my gf will relate to.

You did it again Acc :).

Women can still spend more $$$ on their cosmetics then even we do with all our detailing chemicals! Well, maybe with the exception of adding Vintage to the mix but still...

Back in the late 60's, was Western Regional Sales Manager for Yardley of London, it's "hay days", we were right up there with Revlon, Coty, etc.

An excutive out of our "show offices" in New York City once shared with me what the whole business was really about.

Advertise, Advertise to women, selling "Hope and Romance".

If they used our product, they could "hope" they would get some "romance".

Not sure the industry I ended up in is not close to that same thing.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to equate hope and romance to those of us who love a detailed car. The feel good about your appearance/car's appearance, feel good about yourself is a strong underlier in both though.

I want to see Accumulators car collection ALMOST as bad as I want to see inside the Duragloss factory.

Bill, yeah, however when I chat with some of the younger enthusists, one of the things most mention is how their "hot car" is a flower of necture for the "hot girl".

LOL!

In my day, decades ago that was for sure.

Even today, at my age, I get "hit on" by some older women when driving the Beast.

They come up and use it ask questions, talk about what it was when they were young, etc.

Grumpy

LOL. That doesn't happen in my neck of the woods. I think I park too damn far away to even be noticed :chuckle

And LOL if Barry thinks Im one of the grumpy old men!

Heck, I'd settle for just seeing some of his past cars. Sounds like he's had a pretty diverse collection over time.

Assuming you really do want to see inside the DuraGloss factory....Eh, you're about a year or so too late for any kind of big wow. I'm currently down to six, and the Jag's still stashed at my mechanic's place. So...well, an older Tahoe, three Audis, and a white Crown Vic "training device" aren't exactly any great "collection".

Bingo. At one time or another I've had some mighty cool stuff. Funny thing was how little I actually enjoyed some of those

Eh, different priorities these days...

I'd love to see your shop! From the partial descriptions I've read over time, it really sounds like something any red blooded car guy would go ga-ga over! It's part of your residence, but separate from the actual garage IIRC?

You know, it really is funny how that works. Seems when I don't own a vehicle and I'm just working on/driving it for someone else, I absolutely love it and have a blast. But when I actually own it, I get tired of it really quickly (case in point being the TBSS I owned for less than a year).

Guess that's why I always tell people I don't really need my own toys as long as other people bring me their toys and pay me to play with them :D

Yeah, while I'd do some things differently if I were building it today, it's pretty nice. Most people would want to decorate it though, and I keep thinking I'll get around to at least doing the walls of the office...maybe some day.

Right. There's a three-car that's built into the house (it's the original garage) and the shop's attached to that via a double-gated breezeway, where the dogs often hang out.
