oaevo8u said:almost like the backing plate is to big
General Lee said:tdekany- I've never seen a pad do what your orange pad did. What size backing plate and counter weight do you use?
General Lee said:Tdekany& oaevo8u- What do you guys use to wash your pads? And what is your technique?
tdekany said:I use IVORY dishwashing liquid.
technique?
1 I soak them for a while, sometimes too long.
2 squeeze the pad to get most of the product/dirt out under running water
3 pour ivory on it
4 fold it in half to get the cleaner all over the pad
5 put it in the sink and I start punching it with both fists to produse sud and get remaining junk out.
6 under running water I squeeze it until suds are gone and pad looks clean.
BTW, the TOL pad was brand new in its own sealed bag.
Eliot Ness said:I would say as the Velcro backing on the pad is separating it allows the pad to wobble a bit, and that motion allows the Velcro on the backing plate to chew the foam through the hole.
xhaust50 said:Well, a TOL representative called back and said they couldn't replace them because they are 3 month old. Seems short lived for pads I used 4 times. Anyway, would contacting LC be of any use being they manufactured the pads? Otherwise I'm gonna throw my next purchase to autogeek for some edge pads and other products.
