Anyone Compare Fit vs. Yaris...

dmxsoulja3, you got any photos, swirled or no? I like the blue and the red, especially with an interior option I've only seen in the brochures which has body-color trim in the upper part of the steering wheel and over the gauge cluster.

Fit is awesome. The Sport model makes the car look much more sporty with the aero kit and alloy wheels. For these cars, the 5 speed is probably the most fun although the automatic does come with a paddle shifter. The auto is probably better if you're looking for something easier to drive in traffic and up hills. The handling is very good and they have a Fit racing series in Japan... but then they have a Prius racing series too. :lol

The Yaris is probably top-notch as well but the styling doesn't appeal to me.

Don't forget the Nissan Versa! I still think the Fit looks the best.

To add insult to injury the lawn maintance crew at my work decided to blow the parking lot out after a light drizzle and my brand new fit is covered with grass and grime and dirt, so ya that sucks atleast along with the dealer installed swirls atleast it has a little wax/sealant on it so it should come off ok this weekend when I wash her down (Come on Autopia get me my Swirlbuster pad here now!!).

The car is really sporty for the HP, my xB had the same horsepower and I had an intake and exhaust and I can tell stock I could blow the doors off my xB, not sure if its gearing or just the way the power is put down but its definitely a fun little car to drive and glad I made the switch, will post some pics later tonight when I get off of when I brought her home from the dealer.

Here you go just a quick snap of the Fit, I will take more tomorrow probably

I am going to try and test drive a fit today. We have two new Imprezas in our household and as much as I love my RS I would like to get into something cheaper, better on gas, and better on my insurance. I really want to try and get into a Fit 5 speed AT with the paddle shift.

With the exterior add-ons you can put on the fit: Nice looking 16" rims, sport grill, exhaust...It actually seems pretty cool for $16k!

Danase; be sure to keep us informed on your impressions of it after you test drive one! On the overall appearance and performance. Coming from someone with a WRX I will definately respect your opinion because I know you dont want to be driving around in a dork mobile :)

-------------------

I just estimated my payments for purchasing...For a $17k equipped fit I can have my payments at $238. With a $3,000 down payment

This is definately something I am going to look into, currently Im paying $165 for my car payment, but with getting rid of a supercharged car with gas prices, insurance rate difference, Im getting into a brand new car with warranty - - It seems perfect..but why no leather seats :sadpace: Thank you to the original thread starter!!!

What's everyone favorite color for the sport model? Mine would have to be the orange

Will do! I don't have the WRX, just the RS though. And my wife has the same car as me except hers is a 2006 and a wagon. So we are thinking....why do we need two new Imprezas? LOL If the Fit does not handle like my RS than I won't even consider it. I like how my Impreza takes the curves without dumping a ton of cash into suspension work to be happy.

It doesn't look like I will be test driving one today because I have to take my bike into the shop (best mode of transpertaion :lol ) and all of my local Honda dealers are either closed today or close super early.

The one thing that I am really liking about the Fit is the paddle shift on the Sport model. I have had a manual trans since I was 16 and I am getting sick of shifting all of the time. I would like to have the option and having that option on the wheel would be sweet. :)

Ive been doing some searching and found that the Scion tc is around the same price....:( I always thought they were more expensive than 17k....ooh the decisions

I will never by a Scion. I loved them when they first came out. My friend had an Xb and hated it. Problems from day one. My wife and I test drove an Xa but by the time you added all of the "options" that where standard in the Subaru's line it ended up being much cheaper to lease the 2006 wagon. Plus I HATE the speedo in the center of the dash on the Scions.

Plus I have owned two Hondas in the last 4 years and loved them both. The build quality was way above anything else I have owned.

For those of you looking to find more pictures of the Fit, Cardomain has a few

Here is one I found that shows the fit does have potential to turn heads and look sporty, after browsing I think white looks the best on this model.

Yeah guys feel free to ask any questions about the Fit...also your hard pressed to find any negative reviews on the internet about the Fit its solid and purpose built and you can tell...the chassis is double layer construction, the fuel tank is mounted in the middle of the car for weight distro along with structural integrity, the overall engineering of the vehicle is top notch and what lies beneath the surface is a true curcuit racer because thats what they use em for over across the pond, and did I mention I get 37+ mpg?.

The Fit is a better car overall, but it really is an old car (Old everywhere else). The Yaris is a nice car as well, I'm more of a Toyota guy, so I'd probably go for a Yaris. The Yaris while having a smaller motor, is quicker than the Fit. But the Fit will outhandle the Yaris. I'm not too fond of the "van seating" in the Fit.
