Any road bikers here?

SEVENRD? SEVEN BIKE?

I have 7800 DA pedals on my Seven and I like them. I also have Look Keo's on my Trek now. I like them also. I am not a Speedplay guy.

I had egg beaters on my road bike for a while when I made the transition form mountian to road. Worked fine. No isues except comments from the "FREDS".

Road biking for YEARS. LOVE IT AS MUCH AS DETAILING.....

I currently on a custom 2007 SEVEN ID8 with DA10 and Ksyrium ES and a 2005 Trek 5200 with a mix of Dura-Ace.

I just sold a 07 Look 595 for the ID8. The Trek is the comfort bike, its like a couch. The ID8 is the "look at me" bike.

Aren't the Seven's great bikes? Mine's almost 10 years old and still a blast to ride. Eventually I'll likely replace it with an Elium.

Yes, Sevenrd - Seven bike. I abbreviated road to rd.

I'm really happy with the Ridley. I was itching to build up another bike but didn't want to drop too much money on a frame. I'm really happy with the results.

But yes, Seven is tough to beat. I love the Eliums. SG or Race, I'm not sure. But that will likely be my replacement for the Odonata.

nice old school relatively speaking Cannondale Scott. I haven't been on my road bike in6-7 yrs. use to be a 500 mile a week rider in the 80's to early 90's, then I got married and lazy.

down tube shifters aero brake handles, is it friction or click shift.

I'll have to take a pic later and edit up.:spot

Competitive Cyclist sells Ridleys now.

Nice people, I just cant take the trip to Arkansas for a bike, my wife would shoot me. I do more than my share of stupid things. If they discounted higher, I'd order through them and justify the trip!

I have a tough time finding a decent saddle. I used to ride Flite's, but they started feeling uncomfortable after a while. The Rever is ok for a minimalist saddle, but still not good for really long rides. Never tried the Aliante.

Scottwax - a 20mph average speed is strong. I dont know what the hills are like in your area of TX, but where I am an A rider averages 22mph in the hills.

I average 18 in Westchester/ CT and 22mph in Central Park / NYC. I typically ride 30 miles three nights per week. then I do a fast club ride (Gimbels) or I do a 55 on Sat and or Sunday through North Westchester.

Do what I do:

Find a bike store that takes returns and buy ALL of the seats they have on your AMEX, return the ones you dont like. You'll pay a little more than online, but who cares, you'll be comfortable.

That's actually not a bad idea. It sucks to drop a bunch of cash on a saddle that has received good reviews only to find it doesn't quite work for me.

I just rode Filmore Street, across the Golden Gate, and through Marin 2 weeks ago for my birthday. Filmore is a mans hill, my weak little NY legs broke down on it. I almost fell. San Francisco has some serious riders. I took my Seven.

Tip to all that travel with a bike-

Go to your local bike store and have them pack it and ship it via FedEx to a bike store where you are travelling to. Have that remote bike store pack it back up and ship to your local bike store. For $200 your life is made EASY and damage liability is on FedEx!!

I have to agree. a saddle is very personal choice. doesn't matter how much it costs or how well it was reviewed, comes down to how your butt feels about it. comfortable saddle is worth its weight in gold on a long ride.
