What kind of car is that in? 8s! Good lord you must have almost no airspace in the cabin. This sounds interesting.
 
Toyota Tacoma Ext Cab. - No airspace is an understatement. Those 8's pound and I have shown up folks with 12s on MANY occasions. 1.1ft^3 Box to boot.

no offence but i dont think u would have won very many comps with that setup. with all those speakers ur sound stage must be all over the place. and not to mention the only thing worth using in a comp that u have would be the headunit and the cdt speakers. those amps and alpine speakers dont really put out that clear of a signal. just wondering how u placed.
 
Oh, I haven't competed in about 7 years. My Whole front stage was Diamond Audio back then. You would actually be VERY suprised at the front stage I get.
 
Nice setup BTW. I had a good friend that had the Image Dynamics Horns. Those things were huge. I wish I could afford some of that Zapco stuff. SUPER SUPER stuff. Now I just play it loud for me. No time for nitpicking every creak, rattle etc. Mostly into home theatre stuff now.
 
diamond was the best back in the day for component speakers. they are really good stuff still but nothing like they were. thats like most companies except for zapco, they have always been awesome and will hopefully keep producing products of the same quality like they have been.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, IMHO nothing even holds a candle to the DynAudio seperates.
 
So it has been a while since we had any type of audio discussion here, I thought I would put it in this thread since it went so well before.

About 2 weeks ago my Eclipse 55040 (the 2000 model) took a crap on me and stopped playing CDs. Since I hate the way radio sounds (static) I have been going slowly insane. I am going to buy a new deck in a bout 3 weeks and I am thinking that this Eclipse Deck. Since I am an Eclipse whore of course that is what I am considering, however I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas?

I don't know very much about newer decks from Clarion or Alpine, I was looking for something that has 8V pre-out and a dedicated sub control. anybody have any idears I would love to hear them.

And also with all the new "faces" here at DC I thought that we might get some new interest in a stereo thread.

I'm into car audio, but I don't compete or anything. I sold most of my stuff when I got my current S10. I have a Kenwood 959 HU POS, Clarion DPX1000.2 amp, and 2 Polk subs sealed. But have been looking in to new stuff for a 06 GMC 2500HD that I hope to be getting later in 06. I stick with my POS HU until I decide if I want to upgrade to DVDs or not, DLS iridiums comps, Soundstream XTA 480.4 for the DLSs, I'll keep Clarion unless its to underpowered, and the baddest subs I can fit into a Crew Cab looking at RE XXX, Brahma, Treo SSI, Stereo Integrity Mag is looking like a winner.
