Any Matte Black Tire Dressing Fans?

About to run out of my 1Z Tiefpelfeigiengerer(sp?). It does a great job and I really love the deep dark matte finish it leaves to tires but I'm looking to try something else.

Anyone using something similar they are happy with?

Zaino Z16 is a very matte product which a lot of people like and seems to give good longevity relative to some of the other "white" dressings. Has a lemon fragrance.

I like a matte finish so long as it has a nice sheen to it and leaves the tires a very rich black. HT Grape is my favorite semi-gloss finish tire dressing. It lasts a long time too, I've seen 2-3 weeks out of an application.

I think of myself as a "matte/satin black tire guy" and I'm very pleased with the Z16.

Let it soak in before buffing off the excess and it'll last a *lot* longer than if you just apply and wipe it right off.

3M used to (still does?) make an excellent tire dressing that left a "matte sheen", but it was/is only available in gallons (a couple friends and I went in together and split it three ways). A third of a gallon has lasted me a LOOONNNNG time.

If you use a lot of it, I would recommend checking it out.

see how this looks, no shine.

That's what I like. :xyxthumbs

I hate it when the tires are shinier than the car.

I've been using Meg's hyper dressing. You can dilute it with water to obtain the shine or matte look you desire. Only down fall is since it is diluted with water it doesn't last very long. It doesn't matter to me since I'm always washing my car, I just put on a new coat everytime. I haven't used any of the others mentioned, so I can't say if it is similar to those or not.

Hope this helps,

chubs

I use one coat of Bold and Bright or Z16 (buffed off) for a nice satin look

Very Nice! Well I think you just sold me on the BnB. I went and got some NXT Tech Protect and I like the way it looks on the van tires.... but its gonna have more shine then I want on the Jeep tires. What kind of durability do you get from the BnB?

It's water based so not much in the rain, Z16 lasts longer. Normal conditons 1 week 2 weeks tops, but I do like that the tires are very easy to clean (tire brush/soap & water). :xyxthumbs

Thanks! Does Z16 look about the same as the pics above?

meguiar's endurance. They have 2 formulas. a matte and a high luster. The matte looks awesome once buffed off. lasts a good couple of washes to boot!

Another vote for Meg's GC Endurance - Original Formula.

Kind of hard to find as the stores usually carry the high gloss version.

#38 is good too, but doesn't last as long and is more expensive

Almost any tire dressing can give you a matte "low shine" finish. When I didn't have Z16 handy, I used some Meg's High Endurance High Gloss (The purple stuff) Gel and put a sparse amount on a fairly damp cotton pad and it worked great. Looked very much like Z16.

Question: Why does Z16 last longer than BnB when they are both water based?
