Any Matte Black Tire Dressing Fans?

About to run out of my 1Z Tiefpelfeigiengerer(sp?). It does a great job and I really love the deep dark matte finish it leaves to tires but I'm looking to try something else.

Anyone using something similar they are happy with?

Mothers reflections tire care :up

Killer look, even better smell, very easy to apply, decent durability. I love new tires after every wash ;)

Very Nice! Well I think you just sold me on the BnB. I went and got some NXT Tech Protect and I like the way it looks on the van tires.... but its gonna have more shine then I want on the Jeep tires. What kind of durability do you get from the BnB?

X2

That does look good!

I definately agree! Mothers Reflections Tire Care has really surprised me. Great sprayer as well!

Keep'em coming guys! I too desire a matte tire finish.

I'll have to try out Mothers Reflections. Any special technique for application?

yeah, mothers reflection tire care leaves a very nice matte finish. It looks as good as z16 in my opinion. Z16 may last longer though. I was really amazed on how mothers tire care performed. Anyone looking for a matte finish for your tire should try the new mothers.

Armor All applied with a tire swipe

i spray armor all tire foam and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, and then spread it around with a tire swipe. for around $2.64 a can, you just can't beat it, imo. i've tried several different tire shines that were twice the price, and armor all never disappoints...

Mother's FX Tire Shine is really nice. It's water-based and doesn't sling. Most importantly, it's not excessively glossy. Just makes the tires look like brand new (smells good, too).

My other favorite is Jeff's Wekstatt Satin Prot...definitely matte.

FX is definitely nice! It's just right IMO! It seems to last pretty decently also.

now THAT is my ideal tire! Please tell me your exact process for getting your tires this perfect! Thanks.

I put the dressing on a foam applicator - using a little pressure helps get in the crevices - move to the next tire adding more dressing to the applicator when needed.

After I'm finished with all tires I take the applicator that I just used, over each tire and buff off any excess.

Here is another shot with 1 and 2 coats of Bold & Bright:

1 coat:

2 coats:

B&B doesn't last as long as other dressings but I don't mind because my tires come out clean with no residue after washing with just soap and water.

Im a matte black fan. I was using PB BnB , but went back to the off the shelf "No Touch" tire spray in a can satin finish and like it alot . Lasts much longer and get no slinging or browning.

If you seek a matte finish, try the Michelin product. It's very understated and natural in appearance. Very nice stuff, may not be enough for those seeking a high impact product.

I use one coat of Bold and Bright or Z16 (buffed off) for a nice satin look]

I love THAT look, I used the FK 108 top kote that came in the sampler pak - it's water based also, no silicone sling. ~ Anyone else try 108? ... good on all my leather, plastic, rubber, vinyl - inside & out!

On a related subject, what should I use to clean the tires that won't remove the dressing. I just got some z16, which I read should last 2-3 weeks, or more. If I wash my car once per week, for the weeks that I am not putting on more dressing should I wash the tires with a sponge or "feather brush" and car wash shampoo?

Happy Mothers Reflections user here! Very nice stuff. Does a nice job covering up curb-rash as you can see. I simply sprayed it on the tire, spread it around with a mf, then wiped off excess.

A little goes a LONG way. And ditto on the nice sprayer!!!
