anti-static QD

need a good recommendation for an anti-static QD for my clients to battle the dusty garages with black cars. and no, getting rid of the cars is not an option :nana:
 
The clients have to understand that no product can stop the settling dust. There are no force field QDs, so 425 can stop dust attraction but it won't physically repel anything and the settling dust still going to find its way onto the surface.

Exactly right.



There often seems to be a misconception about what "anti-static" means. All they are saying is that like some products (mostly in the past), that can actually *attract* dust to the surface after use, the anti-static products will not do that.



Think of it like static cling when you remove clothes from a drier. There are products that you can use to reduce or eliminate that static cling, and that is similar to what anti-static products like FK 425 can do...to an extent.

I tried FK125 expecting to have less dust on my black bike... dressers are like vans and station wagons in they collect crud on the rear end. FK125 end to end and after 30 miles it still looked like I'd driven down a dirt road.

If the boundary air layer was all laminar, there wouldn't be much dust on the vehicles. But turbulent air deposits dust and the moving vehicle itself develops static electricity.



Test 425 on a TV screen. Do half-half and you'll see that it will stay cleaner. It won't be totally dust free, but significantly cleaner.

Right. You can try the same thing with a computer screen.



I use FK425 on my electronic (home theater) equipment (Blu-ray player, sound processor, cable box etc.).
 
It is nearly impossible to keep pollen off your vehicle, with the "grabbers" it has.

Maybe someone could try mixing a little Static Guard with their favorite detailer. If its safe for your hair and clothes, I am assuming it would not destroy your clearcoat.

i second the duragloss #921 i used that on my vette and low and behold 1/3 of the dust has settled on it than when i used sonus carnauba spritz, or zymol field glaze

What did you think of the Sonus Carnauba Spritz?
 
I think its very similar to zymol's field glaze...once i burn through my 4 bottles of field glaze ill probably buy the carnauba spritz instead.

Glad you like it. I can't tell much if any difference in the field glaze & the Sonus except for price.



How long will it take you to go through 4 bottles of field glaze? LOL
 
it'll be a while hahah, especially considering how expensive it is and how awesome of a deal i got on it!
