Another Zaino Question

I have seen threads where some of you guys mix Z-PC, and Z-AIO together to get a little correction via the PC. Does the Z-PC/ZAIO mixture provide enough of a "base" for Z2 or Z5 to bond to, without having to use Z-FX?

I know that you don't have to use Z-FX if you are applying a layer of Z2 or Z5 after applying Z-AIO, but I wasn't sure if mixing any Z-PC in with the Z-AIO changed that.

Also, what amount of Z-PC are you guys typically mixing in with Z-AIO?

Tell us how you like the Zaino line.

I've never mixed ZPC and ZAIO together. I just use them seperate, and I just use a more aggressive polish if ZPC won't work.

Not to get off topic, but I just finished my first vehicle using the Zaino line, and Im still blown away at the results. I didnt use Z-PC so cant comment on your question but did use ZAIO and seemed to work well, and the Z2, Z5, ZCS bonded together nicely. Hope you enjoy the stuff as much as I have

I just did my 03 BMW, Z4-----I used A UDM with ZAIO 1st, and then it did not remove the light cleaning marks--So, then I went to ZPC and did the trunk lid 3 times with a white and yellow pad--Still light marks visible, I am talking light swirl marks and the ZPC could not remove them 100%, After ZPC, I followed up with ZAIO and Z6 between them for dust clean-up.

Then hand applied Z5 and last Z8!! This was the 1st time I have ever used a UDM and the results were great. Sorry to hack this thread, What could I use in place of the ZPC that will cut more and remove these light marks that still remain?

What Menzerna polish should I try??

Thanks!

What's the point of mixing an diminishing abrasive polish with an AIO? Won't the ZPC abrasives remove any protection from the ZAIO?

Not entirely. There is always some polishing residual to buff off after polishing. The protective and bonding resins are in this residue. If you allow it to dry in the same manner one would when using ZAIO alone, some protection and bonding agents will remain on the finish. From my experiences, this 1:1 mixture leaves a sufficient bonding matrix for Z2/5. This mixture should only be used if an application of ZAIO, Z2, Z5 or CS will complete the session.

In other words, ZAIO protective and bonding agents have not set up shop yet (cured/dried), so their destruction can not take place.

Whenever I use this mixture (mostly by rotary), I F/U with a ZAIO buffing using a finishing pad and PC to even out appearance (rotary trails) and add some highlighting prior to applying Z2, Z5, CS or any combo of these products.

Z-PC IMHO... is ok, but usually I tend to go to a more aggressive polish like 3M, SFX-1, or one of my favorites..IP. I always finish with a white pad and Z-AIO to use as my base :)

Z-PC is great for moving waterspots, which I did the other day with my PC.
